Smith Resigns!
Shockwaves broke out across the blue half of Glasgow this afternoon as Rangers manager Walter Smith resigned with immediate effect and within hours has been replaced by the shock appointment of an unknown 31 year old manager from Bolton, Ben Horan. The reason behid Smith's resignation was that he did not feel he had the financial support to progress with the club and keep them up to the level of celtic who have bigger spending power.
Horan will be under immediate pressure from the fans and the board to see if he can handle life at the top level, he has vowed to put together a good european run and also battle to the very end to win the SPL title, so how will this young manager cope under the mass pressure that comes with the job?

New Rangers manager Ben Horan has wasted no time in making additions to his new team, the first addition is in the form of Bilbao striker Ion Velez on loan till the end of the season. Secondly Horan has manage to sign Craig Cathcart, a 20 year-old defender from Manchester United for 1.6 Million. Horan is said to be delighted with his two signings and he also sees cathcart as a real coup for the club. Horan also said no more signings will be made by Rangers from now to the start of the season

Three Players Exit Ibrox!
Rangers Manager Ben Horan has also wasted no time in showing players the exit, Damarcus Beasley has left for Sunderland for a fee of 1.3M, and Steven Smith has moved to Preston for 500k aswell as Ross perry who has left for 16k. Youngster Stephen Stirling has been sent out on loan to gain first team experience.
