me and my " friend "

that sounds disturbing. Like you made her out of wax or perhaps explored taxidermy for a while

Friend zone sucks.

Me, taken by my wife after a visit to our favorite restaurant: Moyo at the Spier Wine Estate near Stellenbosch, SA

Code:
Type of facial paint. Moyo has a African theme, and when you enter they paint your face with various tribal patterns.

Where in Africa did you go mate?

My Dad went to The Gambia once and said he would like to take me.
Always wanted to visit Africa just so I can see a different way of life I suppose!

I'm a South African, a born and bred Cape Tonian. If you want to see Africa, Cape Town is always a good bet. Lots to see, lots to do. Then with work I was lucky to be send to Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania. Lusaka (capital of Zambia) is nice, but the best is the Victoria Falls, Livingstone (below is a photo). If you ever want to go, or anyone else reading this post, then I'll give the contact details of a very good, but affordable lodge in Livingstone. The Zambian people are generally friendly and helpful.
Malawi is a poor country, but the Malawians are very friendly. Zomba (the old colonial capital city) is absolutely beautiful. There you go to the Ku Chawe Hotel up in Zomba Mountain. Absolutely stunning views, with a nearby waterfall, and the famous King's and Queen's views. Then in Malawi there is the Malawi Lake as well.
Tanzania have Zanzibar, and various other nearby islands for day trips. Then there is Arusha, with Mount Meru, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Ngorogoro Gorge and the Serengeti nearby. But be warned: the Tanzanians are generally not very friendly and in my opinion they try to squeeze every bit of money that they can out of tourists. For comparison, the Vic Falls costs 20USD for tourists, but the Serengeti and the Ngorogoro Gorge can cost anything between 350 - 500USD per person. In my opinion Tanzania is overrated, and I did not like the hot and humid weather in Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar, but Arusha's weather is beter.
If anyone is interested to go to any of these countries, I am more then willing to give tips and advice, contact details for hotels, and if you ask very nicely I'll tell you the name of the company that I work for to get advantage of a corporate rate, as the hotels and lodges does not check if you actually work for the company that you are going to mention.
