I don't care how much he costs, we should of had £50mill left from Ronaldo until the americans messed it up. £7mill isn't that bad.
 
he has only played wot 6 games for fulham tho. so he could be another guy who plays half dozen games. then never becomes anything.
 
He seems decent so far, but I agree with Scott... £7M is a bit much for a teenager whos only played about 6 games.
But Ferguson knows what he is doing. If anything he'll probably get Ferdinand/Vidic to help train him into a top class defender.
Good buy for the future, but could prove to be one of the expensive flop =/
 
Apparently Arsenal are interested in him aswell, hes good but i'd rather see a new striker at arsenal than another defender.

7m for him is abit too much for my liking.
 
Him and Evans will be the new Vidic & Rio :P
 
Evans will become very good, he just needs that extra bit of experience to learn from his mistakes. Not sure about this Smalling kid though. £7Million is a bit much imo
 
watched him against chelsea and he was fantastic really coped with chelsea's big boys well reminds me of a young rio ferdinand.
 
Could be a quality player, would be sad to see him go but considering he's only played five games and he only cost us 50k, we'd be make big profit on him but it is always sad to see that we've become a selling club, our other youngster Briggs is a lot better though, currently on loan at Leyton Orient.
 
They say he plays elegantly which is similar to Rio
 
Joining United at start of next season, nice little cash boost for us, I am sure we negotiated well, good deal for both clubs.
 
Yeah its annoying though but for one time Fulham get a good young player, he on the move straight away, I'm sure his stats on FM will shoot up now he signed for Man United which will **** me off even more because none of our young players have good stats.
