varela work permit help?

hi im on manchester united save in my third season.
varela has been a monster being a back up for darmian getting an average rating of 7.60.
but starting of this season, i got a message saying he can't get his work permit. wtf?
how do i fix this?

ha ye that doesn`t make any sense if he has already been playing.

Try offering a new contract.
