Vermaelen has disappeared

I started a new game as an unemployed manager, then went on holiday until 2013, and began managing Arsenal.
I notice Thomas Vermaelen is simply gone from the game, i tried searching for him and he doesnt show up in search? What happened to him? Has this happened toanyone? I dont really mind it but its just unexpected and i dont want to restart this game
 
Maybe he retired ,i know hes young but he could have been injured and decided to quit or maybe he moved to a league you didnt load!
 
He hasn't been transferred out of the club at any time (looking at transfer history), and there's nothing about him anywhere :/
If he had retired I could still search his name up and see information about him. For example Robert Pires?
 
click on arsenal information see if you can click his profile name if not he has ritred
 
His profile name isn't anywhere in the game he simply doesnt exist anymore :l
 
bit like the game against ac milan! disappeared!

If he retired and you didn't click the keep info after retirement box then you won't find him, must have retired
