FM26 | Valencia – Season 1 Update

The new journey with Valencia has started in perfect fashion. Five games played, five wins, and not a single goal conceded — a dream start to the season. The team looks solid, disciplined, and fully committed to the identity I wanted to build from day one.

I’m really enjoying La Liga this year, especially playing on comprehensive highlights, where every phase of play matters and the tactical details truly shine. This Valencia side feels balanced, hungry, and ready for the challenge.
I always stay true to my philosophy. I never sign players with low pace ,acceleration,concentration, determination, work rate, composure, or aggression — no matter the position on the pitch. Players with these qualities are reliable, consistent, and they never let me down.

The title race is already shaping up to be intense, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona also opening the season with five wins from five. It’s early days, but the message is clear — Valencia are here to compete.

An early setback came with a three-month injury to my starting right wing-back Gorosabel, forcing me into the market sooner than planned. That decision already looks inspired. I managed to sign 19-year-old Daniel Banjaqui for €30M on instalments, and his impact has been sensational. With electric pace (17), an average rating of 8.33 after four games, and his value already rising to €88M, this feels like incredible business. He genuinely reminds me of Achraf Hakimi and already looks unstoppable down the right side.

Always keep attacking
The only tweak is when facing systems with wing-backs such as 3-4-1-2, 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. In those cases, simply change the left and right striker marking from DL/DR to WB(L)/WB(R), as the opponent doesn’t use traditional full-backs.
Use hit early cross if you struggle against 433
That’s it — everything else stays untouched.

Thats a good looking start. With regards to your non negotiable attributes (Pace, Accel etc) whats the lowest that you will accept, or does it vary league to league?

Pace acceleration minimum 13 for all positions top 5 leagues
Work rate determination,composure,decisions,stamina,passing,first touch,aggression 12
Then it all depends what position exactly
For example both MC must be able to dribble and finish but also able to win the ball in middle,with high work rate
Good all round strikers,DLF more tehnical
Wingbacks are KEY!
They need to be fast,with good work rate,able to pass and cross,able to win the ball(anticipation) on side too,with good mental attributes
Check always scout report before you sign player.
If doesn't enjoy big matches,dont buy it!

Right strikers marking DL
Left strikers marking DR
Its already added in player instructions(no needed to do nothing)
Just make sure to change it against teams who plays 343 352...wingbacks

Top of the table, five wins in a row, and now a statement 4–0 victory over Real Madrid that confirms this run is no accident.

Facing one of the strongest possession-based sides in the league, the challenge was clear. Real Madrid controlled the ball in the first half, and we deliberately allowed that. The plan wasn’t domination — it was control without possession. With a small in-game tweak, we completely denied their ability to progress through the centre, forcing sterile circulation and rushed decisions.

Once the spaces appeared, El Volcáno system exploded.
Direct transitions, ruthless counters, and absolute efficiency in the final third turned a tight tactical battle into a one-sided result. Real Madrid never recovered.

This season so far has proven one thing: this tactic isn’t just about winning when you dominate — it’s about winning when you don’t.

As promised, today I’m opening a new thread.

This tactic is a tweak and evolution of the famous strikeless system called Kickback strikless, which dominated TFF's Hot Tub testing. During further experimentation,after I saw testing version from mr.Infamous, things started to get interesting.

A big credit goes to Mr Vujevic, who implemented the crazy but brilliant idea of keeping both strikers on Hold Up Ball. That single concept changed everything: it allowed the tactic to keep the chaos, overloads, and movement of a strikeless system, while reintroducing...
