Hi vujevic, i like your tactics from years. I have a question for you.

In which positions would you recommend Baris Alper Yılmaz and Aleksey Batrakov? (352)

yilmaz as channel forward but better to sell him him low off the ball

focus his off the ball movement if you keep him

batrakov on left mid

won treble yesterday but lost cl final

only 20 goals conceded

3 5 2 is so strong if you know how to use it

Lads I've been observing zlatkos play on youtube and twitch for a bit of time and I've came up with some observations that I thought i'd point out for lads who want to use zlatkos tactics:
First , as you may have already heard the tactics aren't plug and play.
You have to constantly observe what is happening and make changes according to situations.
Theres no such thing as a "best" or "best overal" tactic and each tactic you have to use suitable for the fixture and players you have available , for example 3-5-2 is strong defensively and good for away games , diamond is good at home etc.

But when it comes to changes , I noticed zlatko using and implementing constant changes in his game in this manner:
IF YOU AREN'T PERFORMING WELL OR STRUGGLING TO SCORE:
width ONE knotch from very narrow > narrow
passing > more direct
often times this goes with ^^ *play for setpieces* and *hit early crosses* instruction
Against tough away games you need to switch to balanced mentality with the 3-5-2.
ALSO If you are a *reputable side* it may also be possible to raise defensive line from very low to low

My own personal take if you are scared to concede late equalizer try to change to cautious mentality with timewasting (work good for me).

Also you need to observe and without hesitation make subs to any underperforming player , often times zlatko can make 3+ changes even at half time (do this without much hesitation).

I think things can only get better as I have many new players and still are gelling in the side and developing , lads like Paz and Alex Scott only started to perform in the last 5 or so games.

Now that you have such a good understanding of his approach, do you also have a good idea of what kind of player you should look for in each position besides pace and height? I don’t mean specific players, but more their attributes and characteristics? :)

Watch his videos on youtube. He literally says this in every post. He explains everything, every inch of the game of how you need to play. The least you can do is give a view on his youtube channel if you want to use his tactics properly

I watch his videos — there’s nothing more to it, no reason to make a bunch of assumptions without knowing me or my background. I’m more just curious about what he might see that Vuk doesn’t, or what he may have figured out. Relax. ;)

Lad I don't claim to have a spectacular understanding of everything zlatko does after all zlatko is the master of fm ;)

That being said I can tell you roughly what to look for, for instance in the 3-5-2 system :
GK : the key attributes are obviously reflexes and 1v1 for me as well as handling and aerial ability.
Mentally must have concentration , composure anticipation and positioning , physically agility and jumping reach are the key.
LB and RB must be fast , good stamina , work rate but obviously be able to CROSS the ball as well as have at least *some* technical ability. I believe dribbling and crossing is the key. They must obviously also be able to defend :ie tackling marking positioning is of use though defending isn't as critical for 3 at the back as in the diamond for instance where fullbacks must be solid defensively.
CB: all the typical tackling marking positioning , strenght , physicality , mentally composure and concentration are very important as well as teamwork , ballplaying defender must have some fair technical ability ie first touch technique and passing at minimum.
DM: must be solid defensively , must have some technical ability and I believe passing , vision is important.
CM's I believe technical ability and passing vision are the key here , though some defensive ability is highly preffered. Sometimes I use however someone like Paz that cant defend ,as long as your other midfielders are defensively solid its ok.
Strikers : all round striker for the central forward position from what I understand he is instructed to hold up ball so some strength required ,for advanced forward> fast and TECHNICAL such as dribbling , flair and off the ball are key as well as ofcourse anticipation mentally is very important.

There is more to what I just mentioned ofcourse , but I think experience playing the game can help you find the right players lad.
The harder thing isn't finding players but rather managing them :sneaky:
