Wanderers FC - The Reformation
The first ever winners of the FA Cup, who went on to win the competition five times have been reformed.

Exactly 150 years after the foundation of Wanderers FC with the help of Unicef UK and descendants of one of the founding members, a business consortium has managed to gather the funds to reform the club. The consortium is made up of rich businessmen, all with footballing backgrounds and it is believed that ex Irish and Manchester United star, Paul McGrath has signed for the club as Director of Football.

At a press conference this morning Steven Franks, the leader of the consortium said that he was delighted to bring back to life a club with such a golden history. He stated that massive money had been invested in the rebuilding of one of the clubs old stadiums, the Lillie Bridges Grounds which is located near Stamford Bridge and Craven Cottage. Over the last three days many London clubs have released statements saying that they are disgusted with the way someone has come in and thrown their money into taking the London football support away from their clubs. This has led to rivalries forming between the newly reformed club and the likes of Leyton Orient, Crystal Palace, Millwall and Barnet. The new owners also have had disputes with Fulham and Chelsea over the construction of another football stadium in their area.

The consortium have spent months gathering money to invest in the club and have made a statement to express their thanks to the Unicef organisation and to anonymous ancestors C.W. Alcock (player and secretary at the club in the 1800's).

The re-building of the Lillie Bridge Grounds is almost complete and the ground is expected to have a capacity of 3,000 all seated. Massive money has also been invested in creating state of the art youth facilities + a youth academy. The club also has average training facilities by professional standards which is amazing for a non-league semi-pro club. The club is currently awaiting the FA's decision on giving them a football league license but due to a few financial irregularities it is very likely that the club will have to start in the Blue Square South.

I normally do use it like in my Odd Down story, but I don't like to edit it as SuperBladesman doesn't seem to like people messing with it so I put Wanderers in the BSS!

Wanderers FC denied football league license

Wanderers FC had their application for a football league license declined by the FA earlier this afternoon. After a week of investigation, the FA has come to the conclusion that the financial irregularities at the club mean that their ownership is not of football league standard. The head of the new board, Steven Franks stated that he was 'outraged' by the FA's remarks as he believes that he and the board are more than capable of running a football league club. He went on to say that with the massive backing from Unicef and the Alcock trust fund any irregularities in the clubs finances were on the verge of being balanced out. However it now looks that the dreams of football fans all over the UK and across Europe have been crushed by yet another business consortium who have come in and done something similar to what was done at Notts County, brought false hope.

Breaking News : Weston Super Mare Out. Wanderers FS in?

Weston-Super-Mare have been kicked out of the Blue Square South after the club failed to pay back a massive debt to tax administrators over the last two months. The debt is expected to be in the region of 450k and after the chairman stated that he hadn't the means to pay the debt the high court said they had no choice but to dismantle the club. As soon as the statement was made it is believed that the new Wanderers FC board have made an application for a Blue Square license. It is widely believed that the Blue Square league board have already accepted the application but are making final checks into the running of the club. Wanderers FC chairman Frank Stevens today confirmed that the club had applied for a place in the Blue Square South and said he would be absolutely delighted to get the club that position after what he described as an 'uphill struggle' in trying to reach an agreement with the FA's strict licensing committy. Paul McGrath the clubs director of football hinted that the Blue Square committy had already made a decision and were awaiting the FA's approval.

'Well to be honest it seems to be complete but the league runners have to answer to someone too and I believe they're awaiting the approval of the men at the top.' Paul McGrath

Wanderers FC hire O'Leary

It was expected that the newly reformed Wanderers FC were going to target a top class manager to lead them back to their former glory but Paul McGrath has announced his decision. Unknown manager Finn O'Leary who's only footballing experience is playing in the Wexford League in Ireland. O'Leary in a quick statement said he was delighted to be hired and that he had agreed with the board that the club would operate the same way it had back in the 1800's. They would not be bringing in big name players but picking players from the same schools and local clubs that they had before. The club has offered semi-professional and youth contracts to all the very best from the local area. Ex local league heroes Jonathan Lindley (28 year old goalkeeper) and Adam Kelly (26 year old striker) are expected to be key players for the club. The new board stated that to add some experience to the team they would allow the signings of outside players on free transfers but they are not willing to buy in top class players when there is plenty of talent in the local area.
