Hi all, i'm playing as Aston Villa at the moment in january 2012. I've noticed a couple regens in the game when i scout them are 4 - 4.5 stars. but under weaknesses it says that they may be a fairly inconsistent performer. Is there any way to improve this through training or tutoring if i buy the player?

Not really, it's a hidden attribute that will improve little or alot for some players as they improve over time. There isn't a set way to improve it unfortunately.
at a young age it is likely they will be inconsistent 
it's normal, after time and the higher their rep becomes the more consistent they will become don't even worry about what Scouts say, if he is over 3 stars just buy him!
scouts are a waste of time, I fire most of mine and hire Natal and some other Brazillian scout, thats it
