Hazard won't sign for Arsenal.

Simple as that.

This.
Plus given the time he has left, I highly doubt M'vila will be joining them.

They'll probably end up signing a half decent CB and two kids from somwhere in eastern europe.

Its more to do with the fact they tried earlier in the season and had the door firmly slammed in their face. Lille want him for another year, and he is happy to stay. They don't really need the money and they want another title push with him, and a good CL run.

Would take a massive volte face from them, although when asked about Hazard, the Lille chairmans' face turned to thunder while Wenger had a little smile, make of that what you will. Perhaps there is a small chance.

Reckon they need 2 CM's (M'Villa/Parker?), a winger (Hazard), a left back (no idea) and a centre back (Cahill/Samba).

I know Hazard is very unlikely, but someone like him would be just as good too. Direct winger who can cross/score and link up play well.

Don't think they really need a striker. RVP, Chamakh and then Walcott/Campbell/Afobe if it gets that bad. If they get another winger in, they will be able to play Walcott up front and still have cover on the wings.

Also, anyone find it interesting that during this injury crisis, RVP has managed to stay fit/on form?! Walcott and Vermaelen (if he passes his fitness test) too.

Hazard is much more of a wide playmaker than a winger, think Modric before he went central. He'd be playing AML and AMC in equal measure for Arsenal

Even so, he's just as efficient hugging a touchline like Walcott and beating players. Although he prefers to do a Nasri and drift all over the pitch and control the game. He'd be the best replacement for Nasri IMO, but seems unlikely they'll get him.

Can't think of an available left back for them to sign either. Any ideas?

Definitely will go both ways, inside and out, but expect him inside more, especially when gibbs is fit and overlapping.

Cissokho is cuptied IIRC, apparently Van der Wiel is on his way, but he's a right back? Cant say i ever remember him playing on the left, but if he can that'd be a great signing. M'vila is a must IMO. Walcott needs to learn how to beat his man off the ball, then he'd be like a new signing.

Cissokho is cup-tied. Surely Van der Wiel is too considering Ajax are now in the Champions League too? If not, maybe Wenger just plans on using Sagna at LB permanently? Also, I've heard Van der Wiel to Spurs anyway not Arsenal.

Walcott needs to do what Bale needs to do. When they're allowed to do what they want to by the defenders they are truly frightening and nearly unstoppable. But if a defender stops them doing what they're comfortable with, they become pretty useless (Bale vs United this season he was invisible apart from his one run). They need to get plan B's and C's and learn not to rely on just their pace. Lennon seems to have done it, but he lacks the consistent final ball. Need to learn to come deep and spin, or play the one two's to get in behind etc. Both very young so still have plenty of time to learn these techniques. Sooner the better though of course.

Been saying it for a while, both players need to do what Giggs did in his 2nd season when he started to struggle. Lay the ball off from deep, then ghost past your man off the ball, and then pick it back up in the final third, dont look to take them n every single single time

Yeah, VDW must be cup tied, for the same reasons Aly is too.

According to most people, VDW on his way to Chelsea. Alex on his way to Juventus and Ivanovic will move central.

will be a good signing if true, Iva moves to a more comfortable CB position and we get some young blood in the RB position which we desperately need, no problem in him being cup-tied for this season anyways as we have Bosingwa and Ferreira who can cover for the RB position

Wouldn't Van der Wiel's cup-tiedness rely on him being in a submitted squad and/or playing a game? Not sure if teams have been submitted for the group stage yet in which case he might not be. Don't see why he'd go to Spurs and leave a team with CL football for one in Europa.

we dont need a LB !!!

We need some sort of LB; we can't afford to rely on just Gibbo with his injury record. TV5 is capable of playing there but if there's nobody to cover CB when Gibbs is injured then we're ******. We need at least a backup.

we dont need a LB !!!

Think you'll find you do lol. Like Mike said, if Gibbs is injured during the season and you've bought no cover, you're gonna be up **** creek without a paddle.

What about Jenkinson as backup? Played against Udinese so Wenger has confidence in him

Sagna has played well as LB same as Jenks has at RB

3 LB's

Gibbs
Traore
Sagna

2 RB's
Sagna
Jenkinson

Sorted imo.

Well i am with Wenger we need a CB a MC and a FC

I down 2 to go hopefully.
