Northern Ireland get handed a tough group After just coming out of a hugely successful World Cup in South Africa, the nation turn its hopes to qualification to Euro 2012. However with the recent draw, Northern Ireland have been given a group along side tough nations Italy, Serbia and Slovenia.
Despite this, the team look set to get the games under way and will have their first game outside of the World Cup in a friendly against Mexico.
Northern Ireland slump to defeat In a terribly boring game, Northern Ireland showed no quality in them at all with a 2-0 loss to Mexico.
Mexico gained the lead from a well placed shot by Pacheco driven past the keep into the bottom corner before Guardado slotted in the 2nd just before half time.
Even with a lot of new faces after the first half, neither side showed a promise of a breakthrough. All in all a boring match.

Northern Ireland walk over Bosina Bosnia and Herezegovnia failed to control a strong Northern Irish side in a friendly tonight. Northern Ireland opened up the score sheet with a freekick from Chris Brunt slotted straight into the top corner in the 5th minute, with an own goal from a corner some 32 minutes later doubling Northern Irelands lead.
Northern Ireland added a third to their lead with a second goal from Chris Brunt, this time from a screamer from just outside the box and a well placed long ball. Despite Bosnia pulling back 2 more quick goals, Northern Ireland kept their lead and throughly deserved to come out winners.

Northern Ireland are set to prepare for their opening Euro 2012 qualifying game against Italy which the fans will have every chance to cause an upset.
Northern Ireland fail to cause an upset Northern Ireland failed to get points out of their game against the Italians tonight. Despite going into the 2nd half after a fantastic start, Italy pulled away with a goal just 3 minutes into the 2nd half with a well placed shot from Criscito. Italy extended there lead from a corner with Gilardino getting his head on the ball and slotting it into the bottom corner.
Northern Ireland still put up a good fight and will be dissappointed not to come away with even a goal.

Northern Ireland dominate Slovenia Northern Ireland have got one up in what has become a rivalry between the two nations.
Northern Ireland were in possesion most of the game and were rewarded with a goal after a superb run past 2 players and a chip over the keeper from Sammy Clingan in the 27th minute. Northern Ireland retained this domination over Slovenia throughout the entire match and should have really scored on several occasions. Kyle Laffertty finally broke through the Slovenia defence and got himself on the scoresheet in the last minute of stoppage time. Northern Ireland will be happy with coming away with a good 3 points.
