Take a look at CB Jack Hobbs mate. I signed him for West ham first season and he ddi well and even contributed with 9 goals . Get a scout to scout him or something he done well for me

Use Jordan Spence early - mental stats aren't great, but improves dramatically over the first couple of seasons in time to replace Upson when needs be. Reliable - rarely makes a mistake.

To raise funds, sell kieron dyer, benni mccarthy, piquionne if possible, and generally anyone who is on over 30k a week and not a first team regular - even for free - the reduction in wages means you actually end up with a lot of money in the transfer kitty - anything up to £14m
