What do you most like about Football Manager?

I love playing while getting ******. It can go either way the more drunk you get. You can get over confident and watch game after game slip away from you, so become angry, drink more and take it out on your girlfriend. Or like a few weeks ago I played the last 8 league games of the season and finished top for the second year running. By this point I was quite drunk, so overly emotional. I had the Champions League final next but thought I'd wait to play that in the morning when I'd sobered up a bit. I lost the final 2-1 to Real Madrid.

The realism.

I also get into the game so much as well. And trying to perfect the tactic.

How addictive it is.

even when I rage quit, i'm back on it ten minutes later.

Unravelling in new tactical ideas, and ways to play. Hence why I have a whole thread dedicated to that side of the game.

It's brilliant.

For me its everything. Once i get into a save i could play it solid for 10-12 hours a day when not working. But if you ask the girlfriend what she likes about it, she would say- peace n quiet and control of the TV. haha

- is it the day to day aspects of running a club?

- the tactics, formations and strategies and the challenge of outsmarting an oppenent

- the great feeling when you unearth a gem?

- the great satisfaction of winning a trophy

- making a small club legendary

I like all of these especially the first, second, and fifth!

Because I trophies and this is the only game where I manage to beat Barca LOL

unearthing the next big thing at the end of each season i look throughout the world for talents and word fo advice look through the aftrican teams thier regens have friking crazy stats like this one i dont even know what country it is in africa ;)

I like developing the youngsters. I would love to have someone else "play" the game while I do the transfers.

Bringing a mid table team to glory, and overtaking SAF on the Hall Of Fame.

Everything mentioned previously. The realism of the game is what makes it so good. The satisfaction of winning games when you have a much weaker team, by playing to your stregnths and gaining the "tactical victory". Taking small clubs on cup runs which bring in money which then in turn, allows the club to grow slowly over the years into one of the big teams.

To be fair , I don't actually know <)
I must have pulled out tonnes of hair over the years I have been playing it!

Although , other than the reasons previously mentioned my favourite part of FM is finishing a season and finding out your new youth intake , your new budget and signing quality out-of-contract players.
