dc 2 mrk 11 tck 9 pos 11 str 12 jmp 13 hdg 10 with 3 stars

I think coaches are considering age, avg. points and lots of other stuff that don't affect much -if any- to the following match performance to give stars for current ability. So i don't think it's wise to care about them much. Stars for potentials are more important than that but even those are not so reliable.

Coaches/scouts wouldn't normally give example #1 one star (unless all his other stats are absolute poo) as they take the most important stats for each position into consideration. Usually the one with the most stars (although not always, depends which role you play them in) is the best of the two.

Personally, I would go with the following stats ( in order)

Determination + Work Rate - His mental stats, if he is useless here, he wont bother anyway
Positioning + Anticipation -Making sure he is in a good position that he knows where the ball is going to end up
Marking - The ability to mark a player in movement
Decision - To make the right call, when to close down etc
First Touch - To be able to handle the ball in a tight spot
Jumping, heading, Strength- His physic

I supsect that the player with 3 stars is much better when looking at my stats, correct ?

good better half i like your topic

Most positions have 10 main attributes which you can look at. Unless the player is a box to box or complete striker(20 attributes). I just do a spreadsheet and get the attributes to a %.

I use FM Genie Scout and I think sometimes the rating isn't that accurate, maybe we can do a new Stat Weights for it.

Here's an example of DC

It's not about me making it, it's already made in FM Scout, I just dont think it's accurate.

If you wanna know who is better in that certain position:
On tactics click on player instructions i think and basic and the attributes highlited at the bottom are the important ones and then decide how u wanna play. So lets say its a right back and u have ivanovic and Bosingwa despends if you want full back defesive or wing back

Still having 2 atributes highlighted doesnt mean they have the same weight.
