umm did someone say bojan was ****? you were high when you said that? and valdes is not as good as some keepers out there i give you that, hes just in a class team so he stands out

Barcelona has the best youth academy in the world

just some names that came out from there: Lionel Messi, Pedro, Sergio busquets, Victor Valdes, Bojan....etc, etc

Messi from Barca academy?!? He's Argentinian and if my memory serves me correct came through Newell's youth adademy in Argentina which IMO is the best in the world, yes better than Barca's! Some great players have been produced through Newell's including Messi, Batistuta, Maradona, Sensini, Samuel, Maxi Rodriguez and Veron. They have a quality badge too :P

Oh and I think that Barcelona do have the best academy in Spain, Puyol Xavi, Iniesta, Arteta, Victor Valdes, Fabregas and Sergio Busquets all quality players.

Sorry about that mate, thought he was from Newell's :S

no probs, i get facts wrong quite alot, and am swiftly corrected lol. just thought it was about time i got to experience it the other way round!! ^^)

lol that was me just autopiloting, i knew that one. i corrected a mate when he said vince grella in the pub the other day XD

the real world may differ from the game..

in the game i believe that Real have the best team..

in the real world a lot of team is really producin tho..

barca, bayern (muller, badstuber), everton (rooney, rodwell), west ham, ajax..

depends on the time really..

Why, who have they produced?

have you not read the other posts?

the run their entire team on products of their acadmey as the board impose a rule of using only basque players, (a small seperatist region of northern spain) so nearly every single one of their players is home grown. they occasionally vernture into the transfer market, spending very little and only on basque palyers.

depsite these restrictions they have never been relegated from spains top flight.

Nah never read them mate and I cannot say I knew that. That is very interesting to know, thanks for explaining. Bilbao have certainly gone up in my estimations. Just had a look on FM and it seems Iker Munain is one of their products who seems like he is going to be a very good if not brilliant player.

they may not produce big stars very often, although yeste, etxeberria and llorente have all played for spain. but the way they can produce an entire team, capable of staying in the top flight, just from academy players astounds me. its the equivalent of man united running a team of players just from the north west........

Neighbours Real Sociedad had the same policy for amny years, but abandoned it in the late 80's. Interesting they ahve a lot of Welsh connections now, thanks to John Toshack and Chris Coleman lol

as for munain, he certainly looks like he could becoem the real deal. ive had rooney tuutoring him for a few seaons on a recent save, and he is turning into a little star. not sure about real life, 16 year old proteges tend to come and go, look at freddy adu............

EDIT: Bilbao are a real challenge to manage on fm as well, give it a go

Bilbao is amazing. I just checked out their youth players. All of them have potential to be good in the league ^^
