Why 4-2-4 is so good?

I thought 4-2-4 was the "bug tactic" of last Football Manager, but now, with the newest version, I've been able to win on the first season the National Cup, a Regional Cup and the Brazilian Second Division with a medium team. On the second season I just won the Libertadores, the south american UCL and lost on overtime the Fifa Club World Cup to Barcelona LOL

Always playing rigid, with counter-attacks and the teamwork over a team with stars. Now with better players, the team is improving. And my question is: Is 4-2-4 a "bug tactic"?

There is no bug tactic in FM. I believe u have the luck (or brilliant) using players that are suitable for ur tactic's roles and PPM.. Enjoy while it lasts..

the balance imo making it good. some formation are for attacking, while others are for defensive. this 4-2-4 or4-4-2 wingers makes it balanced.
