Why am I so inconsistent!

I am currently liverpool and in October of my second season. I play a 4-2-3-1 formation with the same starting XI as often as I can. I use control tactics and use instructions that allow my team to keep possession and move it round quickly etc. I went on a 8 win streak which on the 8th game, in a CL group stage game against PAOK, I won 12-1. Fantastic. But then the game after, I get beat 6-2 away to swansea. I used the same tactics and starting XI throughout that 8 win streak and heavy loss against swansea. I concede so many goals but score a lot. Is it because of my tactics that I concede so many and then the random 6-2 defeat after a 12-1 win, or is it just my players not having a good game and I couldnt have done anything about it? It's ridiculous now the amount of games I've either won or lost 5-2, 6-1, 4-3 etc.

Possession- Retain possession, shorter passing, pass into space, wall ball into box, play out of defence, hit early crosses, whipped crosses, run at defence

Penetration- Exploit the flanks

Shape- Play wider, push higher up

Defending- Close down more, use tighter marking, prevent short GK distribution

General- Lower tempo

Could be a a few reasons. Are you looking at Match Fitness as well as Condition, 8 games or so with the same starting 11 seems a little heavy especially if you are playing in Europe too. Sounds like your ridding your players a little hard but without knowing what Smooth said then it could be anything.
