Why is Stoke a Powerhouse in FM 2014?

I've scouted their roster and it makes no sense. Their best players are generally only 3 stars out of 3 stars. Some kind of bug or does it have to do with the tactic/formation that they employ?

They finished 14th in my first season. Hardly a powerhouse.

They don't seem to do that well in the league,but the 4-3-3 they usually play is **** hard to defend against. They have turned into one of my bogey teams.

Ach, always been one of my FM bogey teams. That christmas tree formation they play this year has worked well against me.

They are doing well on my save. I think their tactics and and players suited to those tactics are difficult to play against.

I have seen them come 4th once beat Chelsea to get it
