Why wasn't my Job application accepted?

Hi, This is my first post here on these forums I've been a guest for a long time just snooping around xD. Ok, so here's the story. I was with Liverpool for two years and in my time on the league twice, fa cup twice and champs league once, I got put in that famous English manager list. At the end of the second season I see the England Manager has been fired so I applied for the job and I got it, I wanted to try and win EURO 2012 with England, so I resigned from Liverpool just to focus on the Euros. Now after that, their manager isn't doing well, and is expressed my interest back into Liverpool. They replied that they had no intention of appointing me as manager. Any reasons why? Seeing as I won with them all those trophys and just one the Euros -.-. Thanks.
