Wide Target Man tactic?

Target man means that they get the ball and bring others into play. Bale and Ronalde are especially good at playing themselves (dribbling, technique etc) thus indeed IF is more appropiate in this case.

If you still want TM on the wings then make sure you have some good forwards or onrushing midfielders. Setting the TM to attack duty is also recommendable. It could work!

Wide Targetmen are like Kevin Davis at Bolton or Johnathan Walters Stoke, big tall bastards then win flick ones and direct long balls.

I play CR7 as a wide targetman and hes a bit of a beast to be honest. Bale is played as a supporting IF. Ive noticed if works well in a low tempo possession game.

I'm all about that rocketing high tempo, direct, aggresive, brutal style of play, Mouse.

Im not sure if it would work with a high tempo tbf. In my tactic Ronaldo gets the ball, holds it, lays it off and then runs into space ready for the return. Hes smashing goals in for fun. Found out by accident really. Him and Marcelo are lethal down the left side.

There just aren't many players matching the role. You could always train them to play there though.

I don't really know why they added the role, part of a CF/TMs job in a central role is often to hold up the ball wide.

Ronaldo is the best wide target man

I play Ronaldo as a wide target man. He scores around 40 goals/season (most goals), Bale as a defence winger (he works harder and has most assists), Benzema and Lewandoski as a False Nine ( goals+assists, but Benzema is lazy cause of poor workrate).

I won 4 La Liga's, 3 UCL's in 4 seasons. My teams are the King of the world with this tactic. Played England, won the World Cup ( Sturridge as Wide Target Man), and played MU, won 2 UCL's in a row ( Van Persie as a Wide Target Man).

A Wide Target Man needs good Technique, Balance, Agility, Off The Ball, Strength, and Pace. Ronaldo is the best at this role because he has very good Header and Finish.

Was a fantastic tactic for this not so long ago, I played two regens on the wing, neither above 6foot, neither very strong. Just very technical fast players, worked absolute wonders. Combined with a poacher up front I decimated very strong teams with my Ajax side
