width problem

is it me or do teams on this years fm use width alot better this year. iv tried nearly all the major tactics on here and si forum and it just seems a team will manage to get a 3 on 1 situation against my fullback usually the winger fullback and one cm move into the channels and just destroy my team i dont even expect to score or have a shot against united . so has anyone else noticed this and if so have you found a way to stop it or is it a bug in the ME thanks for advice in advance

Wingers don't track back and defend as well as full backs move forward and attack. So, your fullback + CM can't really do anything against their wide midfielder + CM + fullback. If you want to operate more defensively, move your winger to the wide midfield position and give him an attacking arrow (if using classic tactics). You will be as good attacking, better defending, worse counter attacking, and it will use more of your wide players stamina.
