Hello everyone!

I've been with Huddersfield town since day one, and am currently making my way up the championship in the 12/13 season. I was wondering if I was always going to be stuck with the league 1 financial basics throughout - even if i get promoted again. Teams around me, and even ones lower in the league, are all making massive buys at £1.3m each... where as my budget only goes as far as £1m max! My board never accept money demands and they won't even buy the stadium off the original owners so we can expand for the potential promotion. My board status is still 'love the club' but I can't help but think this is going to be the reason I will fall in the premier league if I was to be lucky enough to scrape the bottom of the playoffs and get through!

Is this problem because I'm a small town and there's no room for expansion, or because the town has no reputation for big spenders to come in and help me out? Will my club ever be bought or will I have to continue with my small budget.

PS -- i do not intend to leave this club until they are at least one of the most successful English clubs... then I might just move onto Plymouth Argyle and do the same movement for them..!

Cheers,
YukoHiro

I have this for portsmouth at the moment. In 2016 and in the premiership I still have a max budget of about 10mil and finding it hard to push on.

Worrying thing is that Levi Kushnir still "loves the club" so it looks like i'll be stuck in limbo between the top clubs and mid-table with spurs, villa and blackburn for a while yet.....

yeah exactly this is the problem! I'm trying to stay faithful to a club and make them successful but there's no change in finance.. except very slowly. I'd almost rather go bust and struggle to keep my form within that, just so somebody could buy us!

Out of interest; any dramatic changes to the premiership in the year 2016?

I might be wrong but I remember seeing somewhere that Huddersfield have a background or underwrite sugar daddy? I think once you get to the Premier League with all the TV money and sponsorship deals your budget will go up :)

Not particularly. Tottenham won it a couple of years back and Blackburn bought Lukaku and got into the champions league a couple of times but no major change in personel...

The finances will change very slowly. You need new sponsorship deals, you get new TV rights, more fans etc.

Yeah, the weird thing with portsmouth was that I was consistently filling out my 20600 capacity and had 98% filled capacity at the end of the season so i got it expanded 26350 and then the attendances just stayed hovering around 21000 even though i've had some degree of success in most competitions.

Hopefully i can get a big name in next season and that could draw in bigger crowds.
