Will only work first time

Basically i got fm 2010 and installed it (not using steam) and it worked fine. The next time i went to play i had no desktop icon or anything which allowed me to play. I searched every file relating to the game and it would not work.
I unistalled it completely before installing again. Same thing happened again. Tried a third and it will just not work at all.
I cant use steam so have no other way of playing.
Anyone know how i can fix this

go to C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010
right click on fm and click create shortcut
