Manchester United have been knocked out in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup.
Everton had Leon Osman Sent off in the 2nd half but United still could not find the net at Goodison Park dispite dominating most of the match.
Owen and Berbatov both started for the first time this season but were unable to convert their chances into goals and both also missed penaltys during the shoot-out.

Lee Thornton today was awarded the Premiership Manager Of The Month of September, Thornton said "I am really pleased to be named manager of the month, it is such a fantastic honor", but believes it would count for nothing if United don't win any silverware this season.
