After the recent sacking of manager Mick McCarthy, former Singaporean international, Levan Raphic has signed a 1 year deal with English side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Former Singaporean superstar has welcomed this challenge with open arms.

"I have absolutely no doubt that I can bring out the best of this club. Nothing is impossible in this world."

The new manager will start looking into improving the squad, as well as bringing in some of his own staff.

Levan have also decided to retain the youthfull core of team, stating that although they wont be featuring in the staring eleven, they will be the driving force for coming of time.

After bringing in the new staff, The Wanderers have agreed on offers for Andrew Keogh (ST) and Andy Craddock (DC) from different clubs.

The Wanderers also made bids for Fausto Pinto, Fernando, Otamendi and Leandro Fernandes.

Player of Pre-season: S Maierhofer
5 goals in the 6 games he played. Good Work!

Transfer Update:

Levan has missed out on Leandro Fernandez as he opted to sign for FC Kobenhavn. Sebastian Arce has decided to stay at Santos Laguna by commiting into a new contract with the club.

On the contrary, Levan is happy to sign Fernando from Bordeux for a transfer fee of 2.4 million Euro. Fernando rejected offers from several other clubs who are interested in him.

Probably the best signing this transfer window is Nicolas Otamendi (Velez) who came to the Molineux for a hefty fee of 3.4 million Euro. The defender stated that he is happy to have sign for a well supported club like Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves also managed to get Fausto Pinto for 2.5 million Euro from Cruz Azul and Milan Badelj from Dinamo Zagreb for a fee of 2 million Euro.

Other Transfer News:

Chelsea signed striker Luis Suarez from Ajax for 25 million Euro. Man City bought Milos Krasic for 21 Million Euro.

Round of One English Premier League
15:00 15 August 2009
Wolves 0 - 1 Chelsea
M Ballack (39)
Man Of The Match: Wayne Henessay (8.3)

Thoughts:
Dissapointing first half by the pack as they could not make any chances throughout the game. They are lucky to have a keeper that is reliable in the back like Henessay as he single-handedly guarded the two posts. Strikers were playing badly, K Doyle and Ebanks-Blake partnership not working properly. Berra was dissapointing.

Round of Two English Premier League
17:30 22 August 2009
Wolves 1 - 2 Liverpool
S Gerrard (3)
S Ebanks-Blake (29)
F Torres (63)
Man Of The Match: S Gerrard

Thoughts:
Played better than their first game. S Maierhofer and Ebanks-Blake partnership looking good. Although they managed to match their opponents up till the break, they could not maintain their concentration and let in a the winner for the away side. Overall average performance and could be better.
Man Of The Team: Michael Kightly
He made good runs down the right side, created good crosses for the strikers but dissapointed by poor finishing by his teammates.

2nd Round League Cup
19:45 25 August 2009
Wolves 3 - 0 Dag & Red
K Foley (5)
S Castillo (13)
S Maierhofer (27) pk
Man Of the Match: Segundo Castillo

Thoughts:
Spirited effort by the team. Ensured a win even though playing almost fully reserves. 3 first-half goals and thats it. Hoping that this win might just signal a wind of change in the Molineux as they set to go to their first away game over at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Man Of the Team: S Castillo
His first competitive game that he starts for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Hoping to impress the manager so that he gets to the regular starting eleven in the team. Delivered his passes with elegance, dictated the pace of the game and comanding his midfield line with purpose. Should be in the starting line-up for the Wolves-Tottenham game.

Round of Three English Premier League
15:00 28 August 2009
Tottenham Hotspurs 0 - 2 Wolves
S Maierhofer (35, 61)
Man Of The Match: S Maierhofer

Thoughts:
Overjoyed by the away win. Won the game deservedly. The suprise of the match was for the inclusion of S Castillo and R Zubar for the game. Both did great and the whole team was excellent. 2 great goals by Maierhofer was enough to get themselves the 3 points they badly needed. The only setback of the game is injury to key player N Otamendi.
Man Of The Team: S Maierhofer
Have nothing bad to say about his game than few missed shots. His first goal on the 35th minute was a result of great teamwork. Ebanks-Blake set up a square ball in the penalty box and S Maierhofer was there to apply the finish. The second goal was a screamer from the edge of the penalty box as the ball goes to top right corner. Good Job!

Man Of August: S Maierhofer
Scored 8 goals in 9 matches this month. Played positively the whole month. Wish him good luck for next month.

FernandoMenegazzo_2241999.jpg

Buck up Of August: Fernando
Needs to up his game a soon as possible. Playing very badly in each game having an average of 6.58. Maybe he needs more time to settle down. Expecting from him more next month.

English Premier League: Aston Villa - Wolverhampton Wanderers

European Experience plus fresh from an upset

Aston Villa will be firing all cylinders playing rivals Wolves this tommorow after causing an upset to Chelsea last outing. Their recent win over Latvian team Skonto in their Europa League game adds to their fine form this season. Much is expected from them to maintain their winning streak against minnows Wolves.

chelsea-vs-aston-villa.jpg

Wolves still hungry after first win of the season

Played a perfect game against Tottenham Hotspurs. Manager Levan Raphic will be hoping that the team maintain their perfomance for this game. The team will still play the game as underdogs, so no pressure goin into this game but knowing that their fans would want a win over their rivals would just increase their performance tommorow.

Form Guide

Aston Villa

West Ham 0 - 1 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 4 - 0 Skonto
Bolton 3 - 2 Aston Villa
Skonto 0 - 5 Aston Villa
Aston Villa 1 - 0 Chelsea

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves 0 - 1 Chelsea
Wolves 1 - 2 Liverpool
Wolves 3 - 0 Dag & Red
Tottenham Hotspurs 0 - 2 Wolves

Team News

Aston Villa

John Carew will not be playing this game due to injury. Fernando Gago and Emile Heskey is fully fit to start the game.

Possible Line-up (4-4-2): B Friedel, L Young, S Warnock, C Ceullar, R Dunne, A Young, J Milner, N Reo-Coker, F Gago, E Heskey, G Agbonlahor

Wolverhampton Wanderers

N Otamendi is still suffering from leg injury. Other than that, the team will be playing full force.

Possible Line-up (4-4-2): W Hennesey, F Pinto, R Zubar, M Mancienne, K Foley, M Badelj, F Menegazzo, S Castillo, M Kightly, S Maeirhofer, S Ebanks-Blake

Players To Watch

G Agbonlahor

Scoring 5 goals in the last 4 games. Good finisher and a very fast player. Wolves defenders will have to mark him tightly to not let him influence the outcome of the game.

W Hennesey

Will be key to the defence for this game following an injury that hit N Otamendi. Will hope to get his second clean sheet of the season.

Prediction

Aston Villa will surely be dominating this game as they have been showing in their last few games. The injury to N Otamendi will be surely be taken as an advantage by Aston Villa.

Aston Villa 2 - 0 Wolves

30th September 2009

Round of Four English Premier League
19:45 2 September 2009
Aston Villa 0 - 0 Wolves
Man Of The Match: Brad Friedel

Thoughts:
Average perfomance by the team although dissapointed not to get the win when the Villans are playing very badly. Although must be admitted that Brad Fridel was on top of his game and Im not really dissapointed with the striking force of the team. Both strikers getting ratings of >7.0 each is okay in for a goalless draw.
Man Of The Team: Wayne Henessay
Although Aston Villa was playing badly, their strike duo was still asking question of the Wolves defence and another cleansheet by the youngster is another positive to be taken from the match.
Weakest Link: M Mancienne
Having to step up to replace Otamendi was a hard task for him. Losing possesion in the own half and dissapointing in ball distribution. Lucky to have a reliable goalie behind him.

Rounf of Five English Premier League
20:00 14 September 2009
Wolves1 - 1 Man City
Tevez (6)
Fernando (61)
Man Of The Match: C Tevez

Thoughts:
Weak first half by Wolves having to play with reserve J Dunleavy as injuries sustained by M Mancienne (Flu), C Berra (Bruised Thigh), N Otamendi (Torn Calf) and R Stearman (Bruise Rib) cant be helped. Yet after the break, their star player of the night F Menegazzo pulled off an amazing free kick to bring level to the game. A red card to S Ireland spelled hope for the three points as manager Levan changed the formation to a 4-2-4 formation with 15 minutes to play. Despite all the chances made, the match ended 1-1 and Man City was lucky to get a draw from the match.
Man Of The Team: F Menegazzo
Played well throughout the game despite critiscm by the fans and the club. Justified manager Levan Raphic's decision to bring him to the club with a cleverly dispatched free kick beating keeper S Given.
Weakest Link: J Dunleavy
Could not get to the game. Mistake led to the Tevez goal and lacked confidence on the ball.

Round of Six English Premier League
15:00 19 September 2009
Blackburn 0 - 0 Wolves
Man Of The Match: R Stearman

Thoughts:
Great game played against underachieving Blackburn although could not capitalize on clear-cut chances. The greatest surprise was R Stearman playing very well following an injury to M Mancienne (Flu), having to start his first game with Wolves, totally faultless against The Riversiders. R Stearman may have just slotted in to his manager's starting eleven this season. On the other hand, Wolves have to start scoring goals if they want to start winning games again.
Man Of The Team: R Stearman
This game was all about him. Went forward for much of the game to support the midfield.
Weakes Link: S Ebanks-Blake
Failed to give the same impact from his last game. Mostly anonymous throughout the game and needs to buck up if he wants to start his next game.

3rd Round League Cup
19:45 22 September 2009
Wolves 0 - 1 Chelsea
R Stearman (61 O.G)
Man Of The Match: B Ivanovic

Thoughts:
Nothing to expect from the game as the Wolves starting line-up was filled with reserves players M Hanhneman, K Henry, N Milijas, A Surman, G Mujangi-Bia, D Jones, M Jarvis and S Vokes. Played very well for the first half weathering the storm of attacks from their much respected opponent. Lost concentration during the latter part of the match and letting in the winner.
Man Of The Team: R Zubar
Being one of the only players from the starting eleven to feature in this game, played very well marking D Drogba. Good ball distribution from the back to the midfield and made few key headers.
Weakest link: N Milijas
Dissapointing as he failed to step up in midfield. Justified his current squad status playing second fiddle to S Castillo and Fernando in the starting eleven.

Round of Seven English Premier League
Portsmouth 3 - 1 Wolves
F Piquionne (13,71,73)
S Castillo (15)
Man Of The Match: F Piquionne

Thoughts:
This match shows how the team really needs a new striker in front the opponents goal. The sudden dip on form means that a change in tactics is badly needed in the Wolves camp. Defence did well untill the last part of the match where they start to lose concentration. This has been a trend in the last few games conceding goals in the end of the games and I must adress the situation a soon as possible before the Wigan game next month.
Man Of The Team: S Castillo
As the attack and defence of the team falter, the midfield did well in the game. Castillo have been very consistent and he deserve the Man of The Month award this September.
Weakest Link: R Stearman
He has again proves to be very weak in his mental abilty as he slips again at the last quarter of the game. Was lucky not to concede from another goal when he slips again on the 81st minute when R Zubar was there to clear the ball.

0,,12306~7030051,00.jpg

Man Of September: S Castillo
Been very consistent at games and should feature on the starting eleven if he maintains this form.

sylvanebanksblake.jpg

Buck-Up Of The September: S Ebanks-Blake
Didn't know what he was doing this month. Missing clear cut chances and failing to deliver his form from last month. Needs to get back to his game or he will lose his place in the first team.

Round of Eight English Premier League
13:30 4 October 2009
Wolves 2 - 0 Wigan
S Castillo (38, 44 pk)
Man of The Match: S Castillo

Thoughts:
Great battle by the wolves as they get their first win in 5 games. I changed and started K Doyle ahead of S Ebanks-Blake as he was dissapointing last month. Got instant results as he linked up with S Maierhofer very well. Credits to S Castillo as he never fails to deliver his goods. Hope this win can signal something.
Man of The Team: S Castillo
Scored a great goal from the edge of the penalty box. Dispatched the penalty kick calmly as he ends his game with another good performance in midfield.
Weakest Link: No One!
Great!

Round Of Nine English Premier League
15:00 17 October 2009
Wolves 3 - 2 Stoke
S Maierhofer (10, 69)
K Doyle (49)
R Fuller (9)
J Beattie (72)
Man of The Match: S Maierhofer (9.0)

Thoughts:
Superb effort by the team as they deservedly won the match. The answer to the team's blunt attack was answered by K Doyle's current form. He linked up with his strike partner very well scoring his first goal of the season. S Maierhofer have finnaly found his scoring boots(or scoring head) as he headed home two fantastic goals. The next match will be hard against Fulham as the leaky defence needs some tweaking.
Man of The Team: S Maierhofer
The team captain played lead the attack very well. Used his 202 meter height to good use heading two great crosses supplied by the midfield. Good Job!
Weakest Link: C Berra
Mistake led to the two goals! Will not be playing in the next game.

Round of Ten English Premier League
Fulham 0 - 2 Wolves
S Maierhofer (16)
K Doyle (47)
Man of The Match: K Doyle

Thoughts:
Amazing turn of form this month as the pack pulled of a 3 match winning streak. K Doyle has been a revelation this month. Replaced Berra with Mancienne and he did well the Chelsea hot prospect. Otherwise, great match and good job Levan!
Man of The Team: K Doyle
Set up the first goal and scored the second. Its like a new signing had just appeared in the Molineux.
Weaskest Link: No One!
Maybe I should stop doing this section if the unbeaten run continues!

Round of Eleven English Premier League
Wolves 1 - 0 Birmingham
K Doyle (13)
Man Of The Match: K Foley

Thoughts:
The team maintained their winning streak over the off form Blues. K Doyle scored a good first half strike but could not score again after S Maierhofer was substituted due to injury. The team has finnaly settled and I couldnt wait for more.
Man of the Team: K Foley
Defended well. Went Forward Well. Well Game! *Thumbs Up*
Weakest Link: S Ebanks-Blake
Couldnt get to the game to support on-form striker K Doyle. Have to work hard if he wants to prove to the manager he have what it takes to be in the first team.

Kevin-Doyle-celebrates-for-Wolves_2416782.jpg

Man of October: K Doyle
Revelation to the team. Scored 3 and 4 assist in the last 4 games. Keep up the good work!

Nenad-Milijas-v-MK-Dons_2340240.jpg

Buck Up Of October: N Milijas
Finnaly he gets this award after losing respectively to S Ebanks-Blake and Fernando the last 2 months. He might just be sold off this winter transfer window if he continues this form.
