work permit bug

surely this is a bug.

i signed a brazilian defender for my Derby team, he got the work permit without any problems and signed a 3 year contract.

Now ending my first season with him making the team of the year he suddenly couldn't get a new work permit when offering him a new contract.

Is this something which can happen irl?

did he play for the national team? this quick guide might help. I dont the restrictions have changed too much but it'll at least show you where to look and what for.
