Work Permit Question

Probably been asked before but cant find an answer for it, is there any way to enhance my chances of signing a player who needs a work permit? Im Brentford and cant sign anyone who needs one but any other club in the championship can easily! Does it have anything to do with my director of football or anything?

Quick answer is no. Till he plays the required number of international games, reputation increases or he becomes an EU national you won't be able to sign them. Your best bet is asking the board for a feeder club for work permits but they might not be willing till you get promoted.
