World Rankings ??

Im in the year 2012 and the latest Rankings have been announced and surprisingly Spain are first even when they came 3rd in their group for Euro 2012. Im managing Ghana at the moment and we dropped 26 places when we came 3rd in the AFCON?

Im sure coming third would at least bring our places up and even Spain failing to progress from there group moved up to first?

Im sure their must be something wrong :/
 
I understand that but im saying that Spain move to 1st even though they didnt win the competiton and failed to progress from their group and also with Ghana we dropped a hefty amount of places even when we finished 3rd in AFCON.

Its a bit confusing

Maybe Ghana had lots of wins losing value to the rankings while Spain didn't have many and the team Spain overtook had lots of wins losing value in ranking points.
