casillas is a top keeper, schmeicel was an absolute beast in his prime though, he could stop opponents challenging for a cross through sheer intimidation alone. not quite as good a shotstopper as casillas sure, but hes a different type of keeper. his long throw was also deadly.
I agree about the keepers, they are very different, I just think that for his entire career being no.1 for Real and only once EVER being challenged for that spot, or even considered by ANY club for transfer, speaks volumes....let's not forget that Schmeical only signed for Utd in 1991 at the age of 27, without any previous big club experience. That was the year that Cassillas broke into the Real youth team, making his 1st team debut in the 97/98 season, in the European cup at 16!!! I think that has to count for a **** of a lot....8-|
ps - Whats wrong with the Laudrup boys? They were fantastic to watch!!!!!
