I'm curious, as this is something that has interested me lately. I'm more interested in the writing side of it, but I included 'Art' in the title as I imagine that will be more to other people's tastes.

I've been interested in writing for a few years now, and I've been jotting things down lately that come to mind and little by little it's becoming a kind of diary of sorts, as well as being in the middle of writing my first short story. I've never had the inspiration to bother too much with it though, so I figure if myself and others are interested in the idea, then maybe I could post some stuff here for criticism and that might help me get more involved with it.

I know this is primarily a forum for Football Manager related articles, but there's a Gaming, Music and Television section, so if there is a demand for a Writing section, could we have it?

P.S. I know this is something suitable for the 'Site Support & Comments' section, but I wanted to find out if anyone was interested in the idea before I put it forward to Sean and the other admins.

Ta.

yes id love it, i actually wrote a novella (short story) once, id love this, what a ******* idea, beastly

very very interested. love to write and would definately like to heat some constructive criticism on a few things ive been working on. it will probably help me english l&L course this september.

is the idea just writing stories for pure entertainment, i love to write science fiction

I love to write. I like to make my FM stories as detailed and descriptive as possible.

I'd be very interested. Nice one, Billy.

For sharing anything you've written, drawn, painted or photographed is the ideal plan for this section, at least for me.

I'm glad those who have viewed the thread thus far have shown enthusiasm for the idea. I hope it continues as I'd like this to get the go-ahead.

it will get more people tomorrow, not many people on at this time

I am also heading offline. Will check back tomorrow for hopefully more positive feedback.

Those of you who respond negatively, be warned; I bear grudges.

Great idea Billy! I love writing and would definitely give this part of the side a go!

Good idea, I'd definitely read and comment on the stuff that's written. I don't think I'd write anything though, my imagination's not great :)

i love a bit of writing, i just got an A* in my English Coursework for writing a short story

I love the idea, Always enjoy others graphics and writting skills. It's how we learn ourselves.

My FM Story was my first major attempt at sharing my writting ability and it seemed to spur others on to replicate the idea.

My only concern is, what will go into the section?

hopefully this section will have more writing than writting, eh kris? (K)<) (A)

I don't think im underestimating the FM-B membership when I say I dontt hink this will be too popular or much good. I really only stick to the football/general forums but based on how angry people were at the closing of a Chuck Norris thread, and the way they went about it eg calling me a ****, suggesting Becky had no opinion as she was a girl on the rag etc etc, so I doubt the membership is cultured or mature enough to handle a forum.

I think 'Arts & Writing' is a bit specialised for these forums as well and you'd be better off seeking a forum dedicated to it, granted atm we have gaming, football forums etc which youd be better off finding a dedicated forum for if you really wanted to discuss matters in depth or seriously however they are somewhat more connect to FM.

Anyway not to **** completely over your idea :p as there are a few interested people. I suggest you start a thread and see how popular that is, which is the usual procedure for newly suggested forums.

As they where the only 2 subjects i was any good at, or had any interest in back in my school days, ill give it a thumbs up.

This was the major drawback I was mulling over before I made this thread. It does seem to be a topic better suited for a forum specifically for writing, however I still thought I'd see if people would be interested. Perhaps we can introduce the idea on a trial basis?

When you say 'start a thread', I assume you mean in the Site Support & Comments section. That is my plan after milking this one dry.

Nah I meant start a thread (or several, but not too many) to see how popular the idea is in practice.

Even just starting a thread in the 'General Section' and see how it turns out. I have to agree with Gregor in a lot of ways. Best way to find out is create a thread and see.

PS Jake, I am at work and i have my IE minimized so that i do not get caught sitting about on forums. Sorry for my spelling :(
