SIR ALEX STEPS DOWN

220px-Alex_Ferguson.jpg

Legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, announced today that he was resigning from his post at Old Trafford after 25 years in charge. Sir Alex's resignation is expected to usher in a new era at the Theatre of Dreams.

The 70-year-old has confirmed that he will remain as a consultant for the club.

It is rumoured that Jose Mourinho will take up the United job shortly - after the Red Devils missed out on bringing Josep Guardiola to the club - although David Moyes, Jurgen Klopp and former United favourite, Ole Gunner Solskjaer are still very much in consideration for the job.

The Glazer family are expected to make an announcement in the next few weeks.

SHOCK APPOINTMENT AT OLD TRAFFORD

In an official press conference in Manchester, the United board announced that rookie manager Duncan Wallace would be taking over the reins at Old Trafford. Wallace beat the likes of Jose Mourinho, David Moyes and Jurgen Klopp to the coveted job.

The 25-year old, who had been on trial at Celtic at the age of 18, and also won a cap for the Scottish national team, had been forced to retire from professional football due to a serious injury. However, he himself was shocked to learn that he had been appointed as manager.

Veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs and Wallace's soon-to-be assistant Mike Phelan congratulated Wallace on becoming manager and told press that he would have the squad and staff's full support.

More to follow.

Please feel free to comment on the story, guys.

My aim is to complete two challenges.

To win 100 trophies is my primary objective.

I will also be looking to have a player score 1000 goals at professional level under my management, which I know is a tough ask.

I hope I can keep this save going for long.

Wish me luck!

Taking on my 100 challenge? Hope you do it, big Man United fan here. Could you follow my new England story

I'm really happy about the results, although we could've done a lot better against Valencia.
Great transfers as well. Rodriguez has a lot of potential and Poli should prove to be a good midfield partner for Carrick.

Upcoming Fixtures

19/08/12 - Manchester United vs Liverpool - Old Trafford
25/08/12 - Wigan Athletic vs Manchester United - DW Stadium

Nothing more than two wins out of two will do as we have to build a solid start to the campaign.

Decent mate be interested to see how close you get to the 1000 goals like I said 500 would be some achievement

Good luck mate, will be following. Can I just ask, did you set the asking price as £10 million for Anderson? I'm Man United, thinking of setting it as £8 million, but the more I can get for him the better!

AUGUST 2012

RESULTS

Liverpool (H) 0-0
yellowcard.png
Rooney (77), Rafael (88) --- [ LIV - Gerrard (64) ]
icon-injury.gif
Poli (89)
PoM: Rio Ferdinand

We should have won this game, but Reina made some amazing saves to keep us out. Poli's injury is nothing serious.
The good news is that Reading beat City and Mancini went on a rant against the FA for having a goal disallowed! (HA!)

Wigan (A) 3-0
icon-football.png
Vidic (41,89), Rodriguez (90+1)
yellowcard.png
Buttner (40) --- Caldwell (22)
icon-injury.gif
van Persie (83)
PoM: Nemanja Vidic

Van Persie got injured the minute he came on! Thank god he's only out for five days. I'm not really happy about the result because strikers aren't firing and we left it too late. Could have been worse, though.
QPR beat Chelsea 2-1. (HA HA!!)

3 interesting signings as not heard of any of them. Will you be keeping Ferdinand after season 1?

really like it so far, also like your style of writing. keep it up!

3 interesting signings as not heard of any of them. Will you be keeping Ferdinand after season 1?

Wait, srsly, you've not heard of Rodriguez? I guess you'd have to follow United or the Champions League closely to know him.

If he doesn't retire, Ferdinand will definitely stay, because he's been amazing for me in previous saves, but I might let him go next season

SEPTEMBER 2012

RESULTS

Newcastle (A)
2-0

Nani (14), Vidic (28)
Vidic (sent off 56)
PoM: Nani

I'm happy with the result, but disappointed that none of my strikers have scored yet. Vidic's sending off was completely unwarranted but I decided not to appeal the ban, which would prove costly.

Chelsea (A)
0-1

van Persie (missed pen. 29)
PoM: John Terry (CHE)

Really appalling result, which made me mad because Vidic shouldn't have got sent off. *It was a great time for Torres to turn up, though!*
No goals from the strikers yet, so I switched to playing a lone striker up front and here's the result.....

Champions League Group H Matchday 1

PSG (H)
5-2
Rooney (30, pen. 50, pen. 61), Valencia (32), Ferdinand (40)
PoM: Wayne Rooney

Finally! Rooney with a hat-trick and a completely convincing win, even though PSG were pre-match favourites.

West Brom (H)
2-1
van Persie (6,27)
Fletcher (sent off 88), Cleverley (sent off 90+2)
PoM: Robin van Persie

This was a tough match to watch because I was hanging on for the last five minutes with just the one man in midfield.

Capital One Cup 3rd Round

Wigan (A)
1-1 (4-5p)Welbeck (45+1)
Shootout:
Scored: van Persie, Powell, Rooney, Welbeck
Missed: Young
PoM: Jonny Evans

Shocking result, but I'm surprised to have hung on for 2 hours. I was playing more of the backups and only brought Rooney and van Persie on in extra time.
We could have lost before extra time but Lindegaard made a fantastic save to keep di Santo out.

There goes the chance to win a trophy.

Arsenal (H)
2-0
Carrick (43), Hernandez (82)
PoM: Per Mertesacker (ARS)

Really good result, knocks Arsenal off the top, and it could easily be more if it wasn't for Mertesacker.

23/10/12 Borussia Dortmund vs Manchester United - Signal Iduna Park(Champions League Group H )
27/10/12 Manchester United vs Reading - Old Trafford
No league cup as I've already been knocked out and missed out on the chance to win our first trophy, but barring the trip to Germany, this should be an easy month.

I just offered him out for £10 million, so yeah. There was massive interest from some clubs. I'm on the updated database, but on the default db, I haven't gotten more than £7 million for him.

OCTOBER 2012

RESULTS

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP H MATCHDAY 2
Olympiacos (A) 2-0
Van Persie (57), Kagawa (88)
PoM: Rio Ferdinand
Another routine win to remain top of the group.

Stoke (A) 0-1
PoM: Ryan Shawcross (STO)
Really disappointing game. We only had 2 shots on target.

Norwich (H) 3-1
Scholes (39), Welbeck (61), Kagawa (77)
PoM: Andrea Poli
Good win with Poli getting 2 assists, deserved the man of the match award.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP H MATCHDAY 3
Dortmund (A) 1-1
Young (90+1)
Van Persie (inj.40)
PoM: Mats Hummels (BVB)
Young just saved us in this game, after Mats Hummels scored from the spot in the 89th min.

Reading (H) 4-1
Hernandez (34), Young (41,44, pen. 87)
Rooney (pen. missed 28)
PoM: Ashley Young
Superb performance from Young, following his heroics in Germany.

Will be following this. How's Rodriguez turning out for you mate? And what do you find is his best position?

NOVEMBER 2012

RESULTS

Swansea (A) 3-0
Kagawa (11), Rodriguez (45), Rafael (45+1)
PoM: James Rodriguez
A great goal from James Rodriguez, and an easy win over Laudrup's men.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP H MATCHDAY 4
Dortmund (H) 1-1
Weidenfeller (o.g 81)
Rodriguez (inj. 35), Carrick (inj. 90)
PoM: Felipe Santana (BVB)
We didn't deserve the result, but Dortmund conceded a cheap goal, so I'll take it.

Everton (A) 2-1
Kagawa (4), Hernandez (83)
PoM: Rio Ferdinand
Hernandez is the new Torres, because he's only scored 3 goals all season. Another satisfying result.

Manchester City (H) 2-0
Valencia (41), Rooney (42)
Rafael (sent off 36)
PoM: Wayne Rooney
Amazing result, but the referee was too biased, he was awarding fouls for soft challenges, and Rafael's second yellow was clearly unwarranted.

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP H MATCHDAY 5
PSG (A) 4-2
Rodriguez (15,54), Cleverley (32), Rooney (pen. 84)
Rafael (sent off 70)
PoM: James Rodriguez
Another great game, but Rafael was fined for lack of discipline. We came back twice from a goal down to qualify for the knockout rounds.

Aston Villa (H) 1-0
Rodriguez (81)
Giggs (inj. 29)
PoM: Nathan Baker (AVL)
We should have won this game fairly easily, but Baker was too amazing. The only player who came close to challenging him for the player of the match award was Buttner.

Sunderland game rescheduled to 12/12/12.

He's playing well, though a couple of his performances have been average. His best position is definitely as AMC
