This year, I don't know why, looks like that the 50% of the players that I buy are incredibly crappy. Such a thing never happened to me with the other FM games.

Hernanes (bought from Lazio at the beginning of the 2nd season for 3,5m pounds) - he was just incredibly average the two season I had him. Ended up loaning him to Porto for a year, now he's in my reserve team waiting for his luxurious contract to end.

Carlos Vela (bought from R. Sociedad in 3rd season for 7m pounds) - he scored only 9 in 30 games, with an a.r. of 6,80. However I managed to sell him to Newcastle United for 10.5m, so money-wise not a bad deal after all :D

Ahmed Musa (bought from CSKA for 16m pounds in 3rd season) - jesus what a horrible player...he can only uselessy run for 90 minutes and that's it (oh, complaining from time to time too). After 18 months I sold him to Real Madrid (!!!) for the same amount of money spent to get him. Oddly enough, my coaches always rated him 4.5/5 stars.

Lucas Moura (bought from PSG for 5m pounds in 4th season) - remember the deadly player from previous FM games? Forget it. He's just worthless now...like Vela I managed to get rid o him for a very good amount of money (12m).

Gabriel Iancu (bought from Leverkusen for 18.5m pounds in 5th season, almost the most expensive transfer of the history of my club, Lyon) - I've read great things about this fella around the web...I can't really find the right words to describe how incredibly horrible he was for me. Still trying to desperately sell him, just after 6 months.

Your turn guys! :)

Hmmm, do you give individual instructions to your players ?

This isn't a help thread, it's just for flops mate.

I've had no one on FM14 flop for me yet thankfully. But in FM13 I had Cavanii flop badly after a 35M outlay. Managed to move him on for 60M to Barca though (torn weather to call that kind of profit a flop though :P ).

Every central midfielder I have bought has been **** but I'm assuming it's my team and player instructions!

I know its blasphemy, but Shane Long has been incredibly inconsistent for me, only managed to score 9 in 29 in 2014/15 :(
Hoping he gets back to his best this year, although I have managed to make a real-life flop a success...

...Danny Welbeck goal machine?!

I agree with the OP on Vela, he's awesome for CPU teams but terrible when he's actually your player :'(

The first time I played FM as LFC I bought christian Tello and he was so average, 8.5m was even too much for him

Nathaniel Clyne. Managing Southampton, and he's very average. But otherwise, most players I've had turned out to be pretty successful..

toivonen.. I think i signed him for like 6m and he was average. My transfer dealings are usually pretty good

Iancu is awesome for me.
My flop would be Rodrigo from SLB for 14M. Was shocking.

I've had a few of those in FM14 (I've only been playing one save, so all of them were for PSG).

Gokhan Inler:
Bought him in the 2013/2014 transfer window for PSG for USD 17 Million, and has not performed for me at all.
Season 2013/2014: 2 goals and 0 assists in 34 appearances with an average rating of 6.78
Season 2014/2015: 1 goal and 1 assist in 19 appearance with an average rating of 6.87
Season 2015/2016: Much better performance, still waiting to see if it continues though. 1 goal and 2 assists in 6 appearances with an average rating of 7.05.

Mesut Ozil:
Bought him in the 2014/2015 transfer window for PSG for USD 74 Million, same story as Inler.
Season 2014/2015: 4 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearance with an average rating of 6.87
Season 2015/2016: 0 goals and 2 assists in 9 appearances with an average rating of 6.90
Decent, but not worth the outlay for sure

Paul Pogba:
Bought him in the 2014/2015 transfer window for PSG for USD 65 Million, same story as the previous duo.
Season 2014/2015: 1 goal and 0 assists in 27 appearance with an average rating of 6.87
Season 2015/2016: 1 goals and 0 assists in 15 appearances with an average rating of 6.89

Same as Ozil, decent, but not worth the outlay so far.

Thiago:
Bought him in the 2015/2016 transfer window for PSG for USD 45 Million, still his first season, will see if he improves later on (Still in December 2015).
Season 2015/2016: 0 goals and 0 assists in 16 appearances with an average rating of 6.83

Sergio Aguero:
Bought him in the 2015/2016 transfer window for PSG for USD 47.5 Million, still his first season, will see if he improves later on (Still in December 2015).
Season 2015/2016: 3 goals and 2 assists in 12 appearances with an average rating of 6.71

Falcao for almost ?50m in the second season, absolutely shocking

Andre schurrle, 8.3million from Chelsea to me (Liverpool) and half a season in he's been shocking, haven't even seen him during games, hiding in the shadows!

Andre Schurrle ?43M in FM13. I was in desperate need of a new LW as Cazorla was out with a serious injury and I had heard good things.

OH MY GOD HE WAS HORSE ****. Worst transfer ever. Managed to get Barca to pay ?25m for him and I used that money plus some more to buy Muniain.

So far I haven't been impressed at all by the very well known Alvarez Balanta. Everytime I let him play my team concedes at least two goals, and he gets horrible ratings for a CB (6.2, 6.4 etc).
I was forced to change his team status from key player to turnover, consequently giving more playtime to the 32 years old but much more solid Khalid Boulahrouz.

Hope he will improve next season.

Diego Costa to Chelsea for 35 million plus Torres/Mikel - Poor performances, sold next next window
Sergio Aguero for 64 million. Very poor, sold for 17 million 2 seasons later
Thiago for 30 million. Panic buy, sold following season for 37 million.

Strikers failed to shine as they were second fiddle to Lewandowski who is a machine!

Usually Danielle De Rossi or Fabregas, massively under performed compared to the rest of the team.

Pogba for me cost me ?50m+ to bring him back to United, couldn't get him to perform for love or money but now I can't seem to shift him because he won't go out on loan and people won't pay anywhere near what I paid for him so I either take a massive loss like ?30m or I stick buy him and hope he decides to turn up at some point.

Paul pogba also, he costed 58mil and wage of 250.000? / week and he really sucks, average of 6.80 in a whole season on different possitions and roles.
Sold him for 60mil to Man City
