While most tend to replace Valdes at the goal, I prefer to play him there until he retires at the end of current season. I prefer laying the foundation of defense on strong defending from the pitch. Valdes has won the European Goalkeeper of the Year for the previous six seasons while conceding 21 goals on the average on all competitions.

I actually rotate Lahm, Alves and Clichy at FB. I do not want to replace Alves and Lahm yet despite their advancing age (34 and 33 respectively) and declining stats until their contract expires at the end of the current season.

Romo, the third midfielder, is a wonderkid regen (PA of 186) and I usually play him as Central Midfieler Support alongside Pastore (Advanced Playmaker Attack/Support):

As you can see, there really aren't a lot of players on this team that have been here since the beginning. It seems to be working fine though, most of the new players have gelled really well since they've almost all been here for about two seasons now, and I sold my old players gradually. I was sad to lose Tevez, Hart, and Silva, but their egos were just too big to take playing second fiddle to Aguero, Neuer, and Hazard respectively. I made about a combined total of 55 million euros for them, which isn't nearly enough, but when you're City who cares? I also have a ton of great regens, including an Italian AMC with a PA of 198! He's going to be the next Messi if I can train him right.

AND, just to add to that squad, I have deals in place to sign Edinson Cavani (£24million over 48 months) and Steve Mandanda (£11.25million over 48 months - release cause)

I stated Title Challenge at the start of the season and am pretty confident in challenging, if not winning, the league.

This is FM2012 though, with a January2012 transfer update... Just wanted to share it...
