When I'm a Championship side/Decent Prem side I always look to sign these:

Wes Morgan - Always
Yannick Djalo
Marlon Harewood
Charlie Adam

1. Ozil
2. Rodwell
3. Gosling
4. Fleck
5. Neuer
:) talented players

I've been looking to buy him this time around as he usually goes for about £8-12m in previous saves, does he perform well at the top level?

As for staying on topic, I don't go for the same players each save. I just buy who/if I need.
Yeah, He raped for my Fulham team, got nearly 25 goals in EPL, and about 10 in Euro Cup. I recommend him, but Chelsea will jump in, just offer him a massive contract

There isn't ever really 5 but I always go for Milevskyi (Kiev) he is a quality striker!

alex smithies

raul (brazilian)
fernando gago
edin dzeko

Andrej Kramaric ( Dinamo Zagreb )
Mario Ticinovic ( Hajduk Split )
James Rodriguez ( Banifeld )

If you're a Bad Blue Boy you shouldn't be signing players from Hajduk ;)

1. Otamendi (1st tier teams)
2. Verratti
3. Ananidze
4. Anthony Annan
5. Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik

Bit off-topic but I've never really understood the interest in specific (ie. known stars) players.
The players aren't recognizable (except for, and only for, the name) nor any sort of personalities in the game Maybe I lack some imagination but to me thats something the series should really work on and I get the kicks to playing FM from totally elsewhere.

edit:
Have to admit after having Tim Sparv in my Leeds squad for like five years I did try to sign him on my Finnish first div save after a few years :) Maybe I understand the fondness to some players but its just a big illusion really since the lack of personality, interaction and recognizability of the players. Just improving the 3d match engine to make players stand out better would be a great start.
