Youth Intake Question

Does anyone know anything about players like this? Like how the clubs get regens from clubs without being affiliated with said clubs? I know this has happened a couple times (once with a regen showing up at a club with it saying they came from my club)? I'm guessing it is just a random event, but I'm not sure how it occurs. Any help will be very helpful!

When I got my youth intake in FM16 with Dinamo Zagreb there was a half Brazilian half Croatian player which also had a club like that. It was some normal low tier club in Brazil. So yeah, I guess it is normal.

Do you have a Director of Football or Head of Youth Development who has the responsibility to sign young players? The easiest way to check is to go to your transfer history and see. If not, then this is the first I have heard of this particular quirk of the game. Cool and realistic though.

i have also seen similar history of a regen in my team. i do not have any DoF either.
