    The Help Thread

Drop in form help needed! I've tended to buy a new FM game every few years, rather than getting it every year, for one main reason - I can never seem to avoid my form spiralling inexplicably downwards. I have a good team, playing well, then I just start to lose. I know a few more details would...

Messi not good enough for Stoke City - Andy Gray

Andy Gray isn't a journalist-pundit, he's an ex-footballer-pundit, so he got his brains on the football pitch, not studying journalism. ;) It's a ludicrous statement by the ref-baiting oaf. Not only because Spanish teams often do try and kick Messi off the ball, and fail, but because Messi has...

    Shawcross 'need not fear Arsenal'

Arsenal will be angry after losing at United and want to kick some ****, I reckon 3-0. I haven't had any reason to follow it too much but I haven't sensed too much anger from Gooners towards Shawcross. The on-pitch blubbing probably helped. Good PR, tears. Nothing more than boos, which will...

    Noobs Guide to Developing Players

Great work, this noob says thanks a million. It's slightly off topic, but can anyone tell me why a youngster with awful attributes, who all of my coaches think is far from good enough for the squad, is scoring goals for fun in the under-18s? He is amazing, scoring something like 11 in 13 games...

    Newcastle set to appoint Pardew

Anyone else think Ashley really, really looks like Jabba the Hut? Bet Jabba wouldn't have sacked Hughton. Kept him chained in an underground dungeon, feasting on debtors, maybe, but there's dignity in that.

    FM 2011: Your worst signing

I bought Steve Howard for Brighton in my first season and he's been a disgrace. His stats are really good for a League One player but he just can't be arsed. He got eight goals in three or four games then did absolutely nothing for the next ten. He's like a fat Dimitar Berbatov.

    How do you fight complacency?

@karlosspain. Yes and yes. I thank you deeply, I knew it didn't quite sound right but couldn't be arsed to google it!

    How do you fight complacency?

Good tips, folks, many thanks. I think I've probably been a little easy on the players as I'm worried about player morale, but I seem to be doing OK at the moment (6th), so I can probably afford to kick some **** and take some names once in a while.

    How do you fight complacency?

I just lost to a team I should never have lost to and I think complacency may have been a factor. I've been on a decent run and morale throughout the side is superb, but my AM told me before the game that a couple of players thought they just had to turn up to win, or something like that...

    Assistant Manager

I'm Brighton and I'm actually scared to get rid of my assistant as he still plays for me, Taricco. I'm worried that if I sack him he'll get the hump and affect team morale or something. What makes a good assistant, anyway?

    Torn Calf Muscle???!!

I had it once with Van der Meyde in pre-season when on default training, which I had put to high workload to try and get the team in shape for the season. He's just come back to fitness now and it's the beginning of December. I changed the training to a downloaded set of schedules a week or so...

    Loan Terminations?

I've had a loan player get badly injured and my physio has recommended terminating his contract and letting him go back to his club, but I can't seem to find the 'terminate loan' anywhere, either. It's a bit of a pain as I could really do with saving the cash on his wages and getting someone...

Raikan's Good young player shortlist v.1

David Beckham's in there! And Rivaldo! And some Fiorentina Brazilian kid named after David Beckham! This has opened my eyes, can't wait for the next transfer window. Great, great work.
