    Hardest FM for tactics?

Anyone else having the devil's own time trying to defend against crosses? It's like every team has a seeing-eye on these balls that tear my defense apart, not every so often but every game. West Ham just scored three goals against me in one game that way, coming back from 0-2 down to win 3-2...

Denial - La Liga Champions and Champions League Final - Sevilla FC

Great tactic for me, with a few tweaks. I've been trying to create an effective 4-1-2-3 tactic that gives me good control of the game against a variety of opponents and formations, home and away. I dropped the DLP to the DM position and the HB role to give us balance defensively with the...

    Match engine changes? Underperforming formations.

Thanks, wkdsoul, that's exactly what I was looking for!

    Match engine changes? Underperforming formations.

I need to refamiliarize myself with the tactical instructions. The ones I used successfully in FM15 don't seem to combine the same way in FM16.

    Match engine changes? Underperforming formations.

In FM15, the best formation for me was 4-1-2-3 (4-3-3 with DM). I could modify it mid-game to dominate possession, become ultra-defensive, or become lethally attacking with many chances created. I picked up FM16 on Nov 13 and immediately tried to create a similar 4-3-3 tactic...and it's been...

    Greatest Player Ever (Barbosa)

Barbosa is not always great in every save. When he's good, he's one of the best. But most often for me he has not been as good as Carlos Fierro, Arianit Ferati, Richairo Zivkovic, or even (in my current save) James Wilson.

    need winger

Memphis Depay if he hasn't already moved in the first season. Granted he's more of an Inside Forward, but he's been terrific in any role I've given him as a left-sided attacking midfielder.

    Memphis Depay

Don't underestimate the negative impact of injuries. Not only do players miss out on playing time and training and tutoring and confidence, but they also often take steps back and may never be able to make up that ground and reach their original potential. It's a real bummer for them.

    Man UTD Second Season

If you're not keeping Falcao (who in FM15 is a top, top player) and are selling Hernandez, it would be worth bringing in another rotational striker as van Persie can be injury prone. I'd suggest Vincent Aboubakar or Alexandre Lacazette as players who can come in and immediately contribute...

Do you feel the game finishes and you lose interest when you...

Unpossible!...to lose interest in watching him break all records of all attacking players of all time! He'***** some 40 yarders for me that shouldn't have been possible, so I get where you're coming from. That being said, give it time--there will be regens who make him look like a Sunday...

The Clusterquack - 248 goals in a season. Quad With Barca, Treble with Killie.

I started a Man United save to try out this tactic, and dominated Chelsea in my first meeting against a top four club. Won 3-1, but Courtois was MotM and I couldn't finish clear-cut chances. It's been good so far! Just have to find a way to incorporate Mata and Januzaj--too talented to leave...

    Vincent Aboubakar!

Not a "wonderkid" per se (I think that only applies to players < 21 years of age), but a fantastic talent and a very consistent goalscorer. You got a good one!

    should I sell Balanta?

Doesn't look like Balanta is finished developing either, so I'd definitely keep him. In 4 years, you can sell him in his prime for more than £60 million.

    Common Ingame Transfers

Interesting! For me, Chelsea always seem to end up with Jose Luis Gaya as left back, and Liverpool always purchase Aleksander Dragovic in central defense. I guess it's not much different than me always ending up with Eder Alvarez Balanta, Lucas Romero, and Memphis Depay. :D

Liverpool - Who to keep and buy?

Sell Sturridge, assuming he's as injury-prone for you as he has been for me, and use Mario Balotelli who, unlike in real-life, is MASSIVE and scores goals for fun. (I'd pick up Gabriel Barbosa and use him as a backup/develop him, he becomes world class.) Bring in a good right back (Clyne is a...
