Can you tell us who actually takes them in your team? Who is your default taker? It matters, as opposed to default, because if your default is say the AMR, there isn't actually anyone on the near post. But for me if the default is the DL, then I'll only have one player back, etc. So it does...

Thanks Zadix. I haven't used it yet. Wanted to get the specifics of what the tactic should be to be historically authentic, before using it in games. Was hoping to use this thread to come up with how it should be set up, since I don't have enough knowledge to do it on my own.

This is my first shot at creating a tactic from scratch. I want to replicate Total Football, the Dutch/Ajax tactic from the early 1970s. The goal here is to get as close to possible as the real life tactic. I am not worried about having the players to fit, that's something the transfer market...

This has not been my experience. I have one tactic that I don't change. On the save game it is initial fine, but right before the first match I lose all familiarity with passing style and closing down.

OK, so I reloaded my save from before the patch, after verifying the integrity of game cache. It looks like all tactical familiarity is there. But the save I made after the patch, but before checking my familiarity seems to have lost that knowledge forever. I guess I'm going to back to the...

I am having the same problem as TommyTomster, with the patch, the team has lost tactical familiarity they've built up since training started, it's now late October (England). Specifically passing style and closing down.

I would add that I have Levski in Bulgaria as an affiliate, expressly for this purpose.

I get that players fail the work permit. But why is FM2012 canceling the transaction instead of letting it go through, and allowing me to loan the player out? Is there a setting somewhere that I need to change? Thanks for any help.

Is the file in the original post the updated tactic? I've had great success with the Total Football tactic, looking to incorporate this one as a secondary tactic for when I'm trying to protect a lead.

Another thing, for my Match Preparation, in season 2 I almost always used Defensive Movement. Plenty of attack already in the tactic, so I figured getting the defensive boost would help.
