I have updated my formation to a more attacking variant, with the new update I found my team lacking penetration through the enemy defenses and things did not work as I wanted to work. So I have been fiddling with my roles and came to a slightly more attacking, but effective tactic:

I still want to notify that my team is by far superior in the Netherlands. Results in the Eredivisie are exaggerated.

The backline triangle, DLP and the two BPD's, are the rocks of the team. They are smart and athletic and will eliminate most of the enemy attacks by knowing the spaces and how to anticipate.

The wingbacks are here for providing support. It is hard in FM22 to find specialized wingback regens. So my current left wingback is basically a Mezzala who learnt to play left back because of his decent tackling. My right wingback was a smaller central ball playing defender, who was more all-round and pacy.

The Carrilero will provide support on the half spaces, but will when there is a gap in the defense make a run for it. His companion the central midfielder on attack will be one who will cause havoc for the opponents defense with runs and creating channels.

FM22 is all about tearing the defense line of your opponent and making use of the space behind the backline. Early crosses or long balls are highly effective and will be easily provided by the wingbacks, carrilero or the central midfielder. But don't forget about the wingers and their crosses. The winger will be getting a lot of scoring opportunities and assists. This also counts for the inverted forward who pairs up with the left wingback.

For the advanced forward role I suggest you use a big athletic guy and honestly I do not think they need to be very fast for as long they are decently smart. He will be scoring most of the goals, will create havoc on the opponents backline.

For opponent instructions, I honestly rarely use them. I find my players more prone to stupidity and miss positioning when using opponent instructions. To my finding they tend to tunnel vision too much on a sole task and forget about what is happening around them.

Let me know if this tactic is also working for you.
