1982 And All That

Could you post important attributes and PPMs to every position.
Also screenshots are welcome how to train players.

I dont normally like tactics without wingers but the football played with this tactic is first class! really enjoying it, my only issue is when a player gets sent off, particularly a def mid...what do you suggest?

Depends on your bench. I always have one player that can cover both DM positions in reserve. Take off the F9 and make sure the defensive box is strong. Move the Poacher to the F9 position and set his player instructions to Hold Up Ball

always loved this formation which btw is still very popular in Brazil :)

I've never been able to recreate this in FM/CM even when I considered mydelf a decent tactician (nowadays I'm rubbish...) so will happily give this one a go.

The Regista kind of scares me a bit as he often tends to leave his position to push forward both to close down or join the offence. Thought both DM's should hold position more esp with the wingbacks bombing forward, so a DLP would maybe be less aggressive and provide more cover but obviously you're making it work perfectly like it is :)

great thread

A DLP would work just as well, I believe. But the Regista pushing forward is part of the plan. It's why I have the AM set to support..he tends to drop back alongside the Regista and helps support the play all the way up the field. Try it with one of the DMs set to DLP, by all means, but you may want to change the other guy to DM/D maybe?

I have a seria Z game with a Brazil temam, in the 25 years it'll take me to reach seria a i'm goign to build my team into this philosopy :)

You should blast through lower league opposition with this tactic. But good luck! Let me know how it goes!

rothordegilian,Also a quest (not about tactic):
- how many players do you use in your first squad?
and
- im trying to concetrate on my youth (I like to evolve every player and its very hard to part with them) but I do have some bad young players. Should I grow them to 24-age and trying to sell or sent off from my team right away in the first season?

My 1st team squad is 21 players (currently)

When choosing youth players to train, consider if they have the basic mental and physical attributes to play the required roles and then look at their CA against their PA. Let's say that their CA is 110 and their PA is 130. If their basic attributes are high enough then that gives you 20 points to play with.

Also, if you want concentrate on youth then talk to the board and ask them to change the philosophy. Then ask them to upgrade the training facilities (this helps a lot with how the team plays) and then ask them to upgrade the youth facilities and then the youth recruitment (they should automatically do this due to the change in philosophy). The next intake of players should automatically have players that can fill the required roles (but they still need training!)

Ok, here goes. As I see it, there are 6 main roles in this tactic. The 2 CWBs, the Half Back, Regista, Trequartista and Poacher so let's see if we can find some players to fill these positions. I'll divide them into 2 options; Ideal and Good. Ideal is a money no object option, Good is for everyone else, including some lower league options.

Left CWB -
Ideal - Marcelo (Barcelona), Guilherme Siquiera (Granada, on loan at SLB at start), Leighton Baines (Everton), Kwadwo Asamoah (Juventus), Alex Sandro (FCP), David Luiz (Chelsea, expensive but very adaptable and easily turned into a CWB), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid).
Good - Adriano (Barcelona, quite easy to pick up for 6-7 million at start), Marcos Rocha (Atletico Miniero), Alex Telles (Gremio), Davide Santon (Newcastle), Bryan Oviedo (Everton), Neil Taylor (Swansea), Tommy Rowe (Peterborough), Antonio Luna (Aston Villa), Juninho (Palmeiras), Juan Manuel Vargas (Fiorentina)
PPMs - Runs with ball down left, Runs with ball often, Gets forward whenever possible, Hugs line, Knocks ball past opponent.

Right CWB -
Ideal - Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Rafael (Man Utd), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Philipp Lahm (Bayern), Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Gareth Bale (Real Madrid, easily trained to the right side).
Good - Chris Gunter (Reading), Gonzalo Jara (Nottingham Forest), Maicon (Roma), Lucas (Botafogo), Andoni Iraola (Athletic), Stanislav Manolev (PSV), Gotoku Sakai (Stuttgart), Cicinho (Sevilla), Leo Rodrigues (Figueirense), Giourkas Seitaridis (Free, old but free!)
PPMs - As above but Runs with ball down right

Half Back -
Ideal - Javier Mascherano (Barcelona), Arturo Vidal (Juventus), Sandro (Tottenham), Salvatore Bocchetti (Spartak Moscow), Claudio Yacob (West Brom), Lars Bender (Leverkusen), Sven Bender (Dortmund), David Luiz (Chelsea)
Good - Denys Garmash (Dinamo Kyiv), Jucilei (Anji), James Tomkins (West Ham), Nenad Tomovic (Lazio), Victor Ruiz (Valencia), Yann M'Vila (Rubin), Nigel de Jong (A.C. Milan), Alfred Duncan (Inter)
PPMs - Runs with ball rarely, Stays back at all times, Marks opponent tightly, plays short simple passes

Regista -
Ideal - Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Bastian Schweinsteiger (Bayern), Andrea Pirlo (Juventus), Xavi (Barcelona), Yaya Toure (Man City), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid).
Good - Guido Pizarro (Tigres), Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle), Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow), Joao Moutinho (Monaco), Steven N'Zonzi (Brighton), Claudio Marchisio (Juventus), Michael Carrick (Man Utd)
PPMs - Tries killer balls often, Dictates tempo, Plays one-twos, Tries long range passes.

Trequartista -
Ideal - Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Neymar (Barecelona), Thiago (Bayern), Sergio Aguero (Man City), Mesut Ozil (Arsenal), Marek Hamsik (Napoli), Oscar (Chelsea), Isco (Real Madrid)
Good- Stevan Jovetic (Man City), Sebastian Giovinco (Juventus), Iago Aspas (Liverpool), Kaka (AC Milan), Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Wesley Sneijder (Galatasaray), Alan Dzagoev (CSKA Moscow), Nicolas Gaitan (SLB)
PPMs - Knocks ball past opponent, Runs with ball through centre, Plays short simple passes.

Poacher -
Ideal - Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad), Gonzalo Higuain (Napoli), Wilfred Bony (Swansea), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Dortmund), Hulk (Zenit), Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Good - Ignacio Scocco (Internacional), Felipe Caicedo (Lokomotiv Moscow), Anthony Knockaert (Leicester), Salomon Rondon (Rubin), Vagner Love (Shandong), Massimo Bruno (Anderlecht),
PPMs - Runs with ball through centre, Moves into channels, Gets forward wherever possible, Places shots, Likes to round keeper, Likes to try to beat offside trap, Likes to lob keeper, Runs with ball often, Tries first time shots.

Not an exhaustive list, obviously. But it gives you an idea of the kind of players required!

11 games in to 2nd season and we've beaten Arsenal twice and drew with Man Utd.
We are top and still undefeated meaning that under this tactic we have yet to lose a league
game in 57 attempts.

plz post pic your general training & Macth pre.

Loving your tactic so far. Some beautiful football being played!
In your SS above I can see that you are using both Att. Movement and Defensive Pos. in your Match Preparation.

Should I use Att. Movement at home and Defensive Pos. away, or?

Thanks

That's very kind of you, glad you're enjoying it. I'm experimenting with the training a little at the moment. Last season I just used Attacking Movement all the time, but now I'm using Defensive Positioning away against the biggest teams only. I use Attacking Movement against everyone at home.

A tactic with the mighty Forest \o/

Did you play Harding at CWB (L) or sign someone? Harding has been useless for me on every save.

Harding is my back up because I'm tight and he can do a job in an emergency (he's even scored this season!). So yeah, you'll have to buy someone.....on the plus side, Jara is great on the right :)

trying this with hartlepool, wil post SSs when in January :)

Yeah, that's the plan, Not sure Fenton would be ready straight away though!
