Carrying on from MrJack's Song of the Year, here is my thread for records such as the following: Transfer of Year, Goal of Year, Game of Year and Player of Year for all leagues in real life, I'm looking forward to seeing your opinions.

Agree with the transfer of the year, regrettably but think Nasri/Bale is the Player of the Year, perhaps Carroll could be "Revelation of the Year" or something.

For me, without trying to be bias - Nasri has been better than Bale this season. Though they've both been very good, Bale seems to have got a little quieter recently, and although Nasri didn't do so well against Utd, neither did Bale and other than that I can't remember a game this season he hasn't done well in for Arsenal.

Can't remember all of the goals! Arsenal's 24 pass (Vela) goal and Nasri's against Spuds and against Fulham come to mind but I'm sure there have been many better ones - In the CL, Bale's mazy run and finish against Inter was brilliant, and Benzema scored a brilliant chip against Ajax the other day (I'm not sure what the awards are exclusive to, Europe? Clubs? PL? etc.)

Transfer of the year: Van der Vaart to Tottenham.
Game of the year: Barcelona vs Arsenal.
Player of the year: Lionel Messi.
Goal of the year:

YouTube - Best Goal 2010 - Radamel Falcao (FC Porto - MarÃ*timo) 3m [1-1]
Great goal. Forgot about Messi, was thinking in terms of PL - He's definitely Player of the Year if we're doing everywhere though - ridiculous goal record, Ronaldo has been terrific too but "El Classico" swings it for me - That was probably also the game of the year for me.

Agree about Carroll.

Nasri has been very good, but Bale edges it for me. Nasri has always been ok but not outstanding. But bale was playing poorly but has sort of took the League by storm.

Goal of the year, well Brunt's free-kick vs us (Everton) was outstanding for me. No goalie on this planet would have saved it, and it couldn't of been better placed.

Match of the year Everton vs Manchester United - Everton score two goals in stoppage time to gain a 3-3 draw. And nearly scored another to make it 4-3. Unbelievable match

Each to their own ;)

Personally think that if a player has been at least decent for most of the year, then suddenly become very, very good that sort of trumps a player who has been pretty **** for most of the year then have a quality couple of months. See where you're coming from though :p

EDIT: And that Drogba goal is brilliant.

Transfer of the Year:
Rafael Van Der Vaart - Real Madrid -> Tottenham / £8m

Match of the Year:
Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid - Xavi, Pedro, Villa x2, Jeffren

Player of the Year:
Lionel Messi/Wesley Sneijder.

Both have been superb for their clubs scoring numerous amounts of goals, getting numerous amounts of assists and winning countless trophies and personl awards. However, I'm going to give it to Wesley Sneijder. He won the domestic treble with his club, scoring about 15 goals in all and getting plenty of assists along the way. He also won Serie A player of the year, and won Champions League player of the year. He then went to the World Cup and continued his fine form for his country, getting the winning goal against Brazil in the quarter final and finishing joint top goalscorer in the competition and narrowly losing out in the final against Spain late on in extra time.

Wesley Sneijder for me is Player of the Year 2010.

Goal of the Year:
YouTube - Amazing goal by Linus Hallenius!

Player Of The Year - Gareth Bale, I think the improvement he has made is phenomenal and has ruined some of the best defences, so he is up there.

Transfer Of The Year - For me it's between 3, Chamakh - Free to Arsenal, Van Der Vaart - 8m to Spurs or Ibrahim Affelay to Barca for 3m, all good business

Goal Of The Year - Bale's goals vs Inter, pick anyone there all awesome

Game Of Year - Spurs vs Inter
