2011 Copa América Discussion Thread.

If that's a serious comment I don't think you've been watching many Uruguay games..

there's nothing like reliving it with Spanish (I assume) commentary...

Although part of me wanted either Brazil or Argentina to win I am glad they are both out. Firstly because I want David Luiz and Ramires back and involved in the pre-season, especially because David Luiz wasn't playing. But, also because I'm fed up of all the transfers of Neymar, Aguero, Tevez, Pastore, Ganso etc. that will be sorted out after the Copa America is finished. That isn't a problem now though so hopefully the transfers will be a lot clearer and they can get a transfer sorted out as soon as possible because I am bored of it all.

Interestingly, despite the fact that Venezuela has defeated Chile and played as an equal against Brazil and Paraguay they are still seeing the weakest team of the four teams in semis...

Winning the cup would keep quiet a lot of mouths.

Argentina, Brazil, Chile all are out.. For all the disappointing games only good thing about copa is some underdog team will win it now.

Brazil were really clueless. Pitch was horrible as usual, but Brazil was all about individual play. No team play at all. Mobility was absolutely zero. No one was able to keep possession and couldn't string 2 passes together.

I'm bit critical but I haven't seen Neymar beating player and making some useful contribution at all. Lost ball so many times doing some meaningless tricks and flicks.. Robinho was lively and apart from him everyone was poor.

I pointed out few days back, Ganso should improve his mobility. In Brazilian league he may get away with it, but in Europe no way he can
do well by staying where he is, waiting for pass than do a trick and release a pass. He needs to improve it big time.

After watching Brazil team for all the years, this team should be the poorest one. Lacks ideas, creativity, flair big time.. I miss Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho, Carlos, Cafu days...

Lol, I'm god. Venezuela is through.
Brazil needs creative player Ganso is too slow, his off the ball movement is really poor and I'm not impressed with his passing too. Neymar, kid have potential, but he's inconsistent and well too much on the ball. I really think Lucas will be better player than both of them.

Paraguay vs Uruguay in the finals. Hopefully Uruguay wins it. Forlan and Lugano FTW...

Watched some of the group games while in Venezuela, and then streamed the quarters and semis once I was home. It was great timing to be in the country while they overachieved in their group games, and it's funny how big a fan I have become just after spending a month there! The 3-3 draw with Paraguay was a particular highlight. Rincon was incredible, and it was a shame he got sent off in their win over Chile because he was a fantastic player to have in front of the back four. It shows that despite not having the biggest names, countries can play well using teamwork and determination and get further than some of the leading nations. Vinotinto!

Final score anyone ? Miss the game, had better things to do, like watching United

paraguay are in the final despite not winning a game...lol.
