2011 UEFA European Under-21 Tournament

I think the debate about him will go on forever, like a certain other Chelsea starlet( Michael woods<)) i think he has had 5 months of limited action, does that really warrant a place in this side, compared to others... If he really was that good, he would be here. But the fact remiains, Henderson, Clev, Rodwell, Muamba are all better.

Better, but different players. Henderson's an athletic box to boxer (from what I've seen, which I admit isn't much), Cleverley is far more effective higher up the pitch (and probably warrants a start there) and Rodwell and Muamba are destroyers without McEachran's passing range and vision.

What England seem to be lacking is a link man, a deep-lying playmaker who can link with the attacking bands. McEachran would do that well.

Your telling Pierce how to do his job even though you didnt watch the match and dont know the team?

Er - no. I know most of the team; I didn't know who played at RB. And I stopped watching after an hour because I had to eat. So I watched most of the game, watched the Spain game, etc.

I think Cleverly is the man to play that link between Midfield and Strikers.

Do you know what you just described..... A certain " Tired" Jack Wilshere.

Or, a certain non-tired Josh McEachran. They're similar players.

Well, you guessed someone who wasn't in the squad and as your second choice chose a centre-back. ;)

It was Walker.

TBH, McRachran is not ready for this level yet... Lets be honest here. He isnt good enough yet.

You obviously didnt watch it too well if you couldnt tell who the rb was.

Why not? People said Wilshere wasn't ready, and look at him now. McEachran is an excellent talent and he has exactly the skill set we need. He looks a mature player too. Saying 'oh he isn't good enough yet' is ridiculous, we haven't seen enough of him at this level to judge. What would be the harm in throwing him on for 20-30 mins at the end of a game like against the Ukrainians, and seeing if he can break the deadlock? If he performs well, start him, and take it from there. It's not rocket science.

I am sure, If he was Good enough, we would of took him.

Wilshere had half a season at Bolton on loan, in the samr way Sturridge has to get himself into the starting team. Maybe he needs to do that, But there is a reason Pearce has picked him, And i have read nothing on him having a poor attidude or a hot head, so maybe he isnt good enough

Wilshere suffering burn-out...didn't affect Ozil much. He played in the winning Germany U 21's then a full season with Werder Bremen then a World cup THEN a full season with Real Madrid.

Because Pearce has totally covered himself in glory with team selections so far, hasn't he? Hasn't put a foot wrong...

Well before this tournament, he was the future.... The problem is what it always has been, the players are good enough compared to Europea Elite.

The top sides will out play is, the lesser side will defend against us, and we arent good enough to deal with it.

You read that about McEachran? Or is this somebody else you're talking about?

No, I said I have read NOTHING on him having a poor attidude or a hot head. So that isnt a reason for pearce not picking him, so maybe pearce didnt pick him, cause he isnt good enough.

Ok, was just skim-reading the discussion so didn't realise. No need for the CAPS. But you're wrong because he's plenty good enough.

The caps where there for clarity... Rather then me being annoyed. :)

The same Ozil that was the most subbed player for Madrid this season? How many times did he actually complete 90?

He has stamina issues and always looked tired around an hour mark. His biggest weakness is his Stamina..

Fair enough.

Again he is good enough, it's clear for all to see, apart from you, obviously.

If he was good enough, why havent the Proffessional picked him, You know the England u21 manager, coaching staff or development scouts?

Why was Theo Walcott picked for the 2006 World Cup?

Mistakes are made. This is one of them.
