yeah henderson is not covering himself in glory here
playing well, although we have no pressing game, and henderson is doing a pale imitation of the "passer"
Have to be honest, Welbeck and Sturridge have been pretty poor in this first half, but Sturridge is more of a goal threat if we're being honest.
I'd say give both 15 mins longer and if nothing happens or they're both still poor - get Wickham and Albrighton on to a) rough up the centre backs and get some physicality in there. b) get some natural width and someone who can cross the ball for Wickham to header.

That one moment where England stringed few passes was absolutely top drawer. Would have been 10/10 team goal. Other than that did well to maintain possession but created nothing.
Henderson played well playing as RM and Cleverley haven't played as RW, why is Pearce playing them out of position. Henderson should play as RM and Cleverely as CM. Cleverley is useless as RW IMO..
Smalling is ace on the ball. Such a classy CB. Even Jones too. Both are so comfortable on the ball. Ace.. What I liked most is they are involving in the build up play and carrying the ball forward.. Can't wait to see them playing for us..
Heard Lansury has injured his ankle so he is not starting. Shame.. Wanted him to start as he was the one who tried creating something in the last game..

I dont care what anyone says we need McEachran in this side!! Cleverley and Henderson has been decent but i dont rate Muamba at all and McEachran in that role would improve our attacks without a dout. Need to get Sturridge and Sinclair on the ball more often.

Cheers for the link DMF. Just got in a few minutes back and was going through a load of Spain vs Ukraine which claimed to be the England U-21s lol.
Mike - if you think the u-21s are an overall improvement on passing, you'll purr with delight at the u-17s. They play some really neat and tidy stuff.

They didn't perform at all in the u/17's championships though.
Mean it as in, give them something different to worry about. At the moment, they know that England are trying to slip Welbeck/Sturridge in, so they're playing deep to stop it. Wickham comes on, if they step up too high Sinclair/Cleverley/Albrighton could hurt them, if they stay deep, Wickham could hurt them aerially from crosses.
Lost 1-0 in the semifinal to the Dutch. But more the style of play for me than the winning or losing at u17 (and to some extent u21) level. You want the right base for the senior squad as you feed players through. Things are going in the right kind of direction.
