The Madrid tactic mate

Just be careful with that tactic, as it has an attacking fullback and high defensive line requires a good defence, if u feel your leaking goals from counter attacks often pull the defensive line back a bit.

good tactic this mate, having some good results with valencia, pastore brilliant in amc!

had a game with monaco too, changed the rcm to box to box mid, seems to score a lot and good defensivley, but my player is a regen hes awesome, id compare him to gerrard

good results up front treq, poacher, adv forward i have 1 of each in monaco game all score well

happy with this tactic! pretty consistant too

Well done mate, sounds like you have made a few tweaks to suit your team and made it your own, that's what I like to hear. I'd like to try it with a box to box, but they are hard to come by.

sorry just that that tactic is always used by me nice thinking though i would have an advanced playmaker in attack mid, a deep lying playmaker and a ball winning mid

Works well, I hit a period of poor form with my Rangers team, debt ridden makes it a bit of a challenge but I changed to this tactic and Im free scoring now.

Sounds good mate, there's nothing better than smashing in plenty of goals.
Thanks for the feeback mate, if you do have any problems let me know and I might be able to help.

Brilliant tactics mate. Ive got a save with Dover athletic. Got promototed to Conference premier with 41212 but this season i was struggling. Used these tactics and with some tweaking ive scored 8 goals in last 3 games. However, im conceding quite a few, on average nearly 2 a game. Is there a general way where I can reduce goals conceded? Thyanks in advance

Well as you know it's an attacking formation, however first I would ask you what your cb's are like?
As I done a save with Sunderland and I had the same problem, due to a slow defence and lack of concentration, so have a look at them 2 stats?
Due to the high line it does require a good defence to be switched on at all times. So on my Sunderland save I pulled the defence line back a bit and change the tempo a bit, there's a link on the page up above.
Also the formation has an attacking left fullback, if you haven't got a player that can perform that position to it's full effect, then I would recommend just switching to fullback support.

But provide a few more details and il see if I can help you further, cheers for the feedback mate.

I use both my full backs as normal support players. Both their individual mentality is normal, perhaps I should bring it back a bit? I also play with quite a deep line. As there are no DM's in this formation, the deep line could be a reason that opposition players are getting into this space? My CB's have average ratings for players in this league. Having said that, I havn't set any individual tactics for my two CB's, maybe I should set their mentality all the way to defensive? My two central midfielders: One is a box to box support player, and the other is a ball winning defend player. What attributes are good for these two specialised positions? What type of midfielders are best for this formation? Hope I have given you enough to go on. Also, how do I upload pictures to this, so then I can show you my team etc. Thanks

Right first thing how to screen shot is alt + f9 then you will find them in you football manager file.
Get a few screen shots up on here so I can have a look at what you have changed.
Have you changed the philosophy from fluid and attacking?
I wouldn't change their mentalities around to defensive as it will leave holes in the defence, is anything I would chane the cb's closing down, maybe own area.
If you are going to sit deep, you are inviting pressure onto your defence so you need to make sure your team are set up to do so. I see people using this formation deep with the 2 midfielders pulled into defensive mid position, anchor man and defensive midfield support I think. But iv never tried that so trial and error if you want to try that.
With the way I set up the formation the reason behind the deeplying playmaker defend is that he will help the defence and also drop deep to give them passing options. If you haven't got a player who can play that role don't worry as I have used a number of players in that role by just changing the PI to through balls sometimes and a less creative freedom. This way you still get the player shielding the defence and giving them a short passing option out from the back. But now you have changed the PI so he will play a more simple passing game and get it to your more creative options uptop.
I think box to box, if not a good all round player it can be dodgy due to him roaming up into the box. That position is also hard to fill with a great player, I find anyway but personal preference.
For a ball winner you want a determinded player with a good aggression to his game, work rate and tackling. Good mental game so he reads the game and closing the ball down early, toggle with tight marking and no tight marking. I used Lee cattermole in that role and he played great.

just thought id add box to box cm is hard to come by but you can sign moussa sissoko for about 15-20m near the start of the game and he becomes a very good player

very good ball winning cm is phil jones (retrain) can get for about 15-20m at the beginning

also found that trequartista is very effective up front, i have ibra and aguero at ac milan and they cant stop scoring, also players on the wings who also play as strikers are very good goalscoring wingers (neymar, pato) and obv ganso/pastore for amc

just some of my suggestions anyhow :)

still enjoying the tactic mate its very consistant

Cheers mate, yer sissoko is quality ain't he, but he shoots to often from distant for me. Thanks for the feedback and your tweaks pal sounds good.

This tactic worked incredibly good with Arsenal. I won every single tournament lol. It was in the season 2013-14, so I replaced a few players in Arsenal with better of course. I just wanna point that I sold Fabregas in the winther season and still managed to win the CL. ;)

Testing with Chernomorets Odesa in the Ukrainian Premier League right now, will report back :)

Glad it's work for you like many others, just remember with weaker teams you might have to make changes to suit the players. Specially if you have a slow defence, as the tactic is a high d-line.
Thanks for the feedback mate.

hi mate, im still using this formation after 14 seasons lol, just wondering how do you play your amc?

i cant seem to get anyone in that position to have a good rating, has consistantly had a lower rating than rest of team and rarely scoring :(
