Foxes Hard Pre Season Has Immediate Effect!
Since taking over at
Leicester Football Club,
Muzzy Izzet trained hard in his first month to try and improve his squads fitness levels and ability! This seemed to pay off immediately as he took to the competitive games like a duck to water!
Leicester had made a fine start to their campaign!
Leicester 2 - 0 Reading
Yakubu (73) King (87)
A quality start to the season! A first goal for Yakubu following his loan move and a goal for promising youngster Andy King! and a clean sheet for Jason Brown! 3 Points!
(First Round)
Leicester 3 - 1 Carlisle
King (15) Yakubu (41) Waghorn (67) -
Zoko (42)
We progressed through the cup pretty easily! We put this game to bed in the second half as we began to dominate! With the same two scorers, things were looking up!
Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Leicester
Gongora (19) -
Bostock (56) Yakubu (62)
Back to the league and another win this time on the road for Leicester as they over come an early goal from Palace to score two quick second half goals! 3 in 3 for Yakubu!
Leicester 2 - 1 Norwich
Waghorn (9) Hobbs (77) -
Ward (45)
Another 3 points at home for Leicester as they run riot but fail to score the chances! level at half time but a late strike from centre back Jack Hobbs seals the points!
(Second Round)
Crewe 1 - 4 Leicester
Murphy (87) -
Yakubu (33) Abe (45+1) King (75) Artell (og.83)
Through to the third round after another promising win! Yakubu makes it 4 goals in 4 games as King gets on the score sheet again!
Izzet said: As long as we are in this competition we are in with a run of winning it!
Hull 1 - 2 Leicester
Koren (52) -
King (47) Yakubu (50)
Leicester kept their 100% run in tact as they beat Hull in a thrilling second half! All tied at the break and then 3 goals in seven minutes sorted this game out with Leicester grabbing the points.
Leicester 3 - 3 Sheffield United
Waghorn (21) (52) Jordan (og.62) -
Ward (50) Bent (78) Doyle (86)
A six goal thriller at the Walkers stadium and the points were shared equally as were deserved! Both teams had the chances to win the game but will both settle for a point at the early stages!
So my pre season overload seems to be working just fine! Our players seem to have adjusted to the football we need to play and are winning! We only dropped two points so far which is a brilliant start and managed to get into the third round of the Carling Cup! It's been a wonderful team effort! I only hope it carries on!
