A Good pre season

Leicester 1 - 1 Blackburn (vassell)
Elgin 0 - 3 Leicester (Yakubu2,Bruma)
Stoke city 2 - 2 Leicester (Vassell,Miguel vitor)
Chesterfield 0 - 2 Leicester (Djuric,Yakubu)
Leicester 0 - 6 Sunderland

Linekers comments :
Yeah well im pleased with our pre-season, however giving away the lead against Blackburn and blowing and 2 goal lead against stoke is so annoying , we cantered through against Elgin and Chesterfield .
Sunderland was a disaster 0 -0 at half time and losing 6-0 was horrible , but i do feel that the pre-season we had stands us in good stead for this forcoming season.

Yakubu left out
YakubuNigeria_637888.jpg

Leicester city's Yakubu has been left out of the nigerian international team for the 3rd squad running now and rumours are now starting that his time in the nigerian squad are over. Yakubu who had made 43 appearances and scored 17 goals for Nigeria is deeply upset by Samson Siasia decision , just 2 days away from city's champonship opener , this decision could leave the Yak off form or spur him on to get back in the Nigeria side .

Great updates guys like the look of these dual stories! Keep it up guys!!

Foxes Hard Pre Season Has Immediate Effect!
Since taking over at Leicester Football Club, Muzzy Izzet trained hard in his first month to try and improve his squads fitness levels and ability! This seemed to pay off immediately as he took to the competitive games like a duck to water! Leicester had made a fine start to their campaign!

So my pre season overload seems to be working just fine! Our players seem to have adjusted to the football we need to play and are winning! We only dropped two points so far which is a brilliant start and managed to get into the third round of the Carling Cup! It's been a wonderful team effort! I only hope it carries on!

Great start to the season buddy keep it up :)

Dusan Djuric was the man of the match as City hosted Boro at the Walkers today. Despite City having many chances, they didnt take one and had to pay the price with the result being a bore draw.

Gary Says : We should of won, we sperned too many chances and payed the price, i hope this doesent cost us at the end of the season.

No shock today as Linekers men cruised through to the next round of the carling cup away at Rochdale. N.Adams opened the scoring for Rochdale with a nice finsh from 20 yards out , however just 6 minutes later City equalised after a great move down the left hand side saw Chelsea Loanee Patrick Van Aarnholt got in behind the right back and stroked it into the back of the net. City had to wait until the 62nd minute until they got in the lead when a cross from the left hand side was easily headed in by Paul Gallagher. City Secured it when steve morrison who came on as a sub played a nice one-two with Gallagher before placing in the net from the penalty spot. A easy win for City who face Brighton and hove albion in the next round away .

Lineker Says : We deserved to win but all that convincing first half we looked shoddy, and were lucky to come in equal , however second half we deserved to win and should have bagged more goals.

Hameur Bouazza's 12th minute goal gave Millwall the win over Leicester today. In what proved to be a real scrappy affair Kyle Naughton's mistake proved to be crucial as the foxes could not find a equaliser.

Linekers says : We werent good enough today, we had a few chances, didnt take them, but to be honest we were completly out played today by a good Millwall side.

Ex Coventry Boy Freddy Eastwood denied City their first win of the season in the 90th minute as he grabbed the tractor boys a point. In the 42nd minute the scoring opened when Dusan Djuric dribbled down the left wing and crossed it into the box where the Yak was there to tap in. City held this lead until the 90th minute where Ipswich had 8 men in the box from a 35 yard free kick one of them men was Eastwood and when Bamba's header fell to him he smashed it into the back of the net to send Ipswich Fans wild

Lineker says : So close to grabbing our first win this year but silly defending denies us. Again the same story failing to take chances, this needs to change.

City Cruised into the third round of the carling cup today thanks to a screamer from Dusan Djuric and two penalties from Miguel Vitor. The first half was quiet and dull and suddenly the game shot into life when Dusan Djuric had the ball 35 yards and absolutly smashed it into the top right hand corner. Then just 4 minutes later Jordan Rhodes was fouled in the box and Miguel Vitor put it into the bottom left to make it 2-0 to city then 10 minutes later from a corner Miguel Vitor himself was fouled and stepped up and yes he scored placing it into the bottom right this time. City will look forward to the next round away at the giants Man u .

Lineker says : Dusan's goal was a beauty enough to win any game, yeah today we thoughrly deserved to win and did , i can't wait to take on united.

City overcame Donnie easily today even with ten men. The game shot into life after 33 minutes when Richie Wellens went flying into James Coppinger and made a horror tackle, from then on none of us would have expected what happened. Jordan Rhodes came on at half time from Steve morison for his first appearance in the championship and just 8 minutes later made a immeadiate effect, Paul Gallagher made a lung bursting run down the right hand side and squared it for Rhodes who duly abbliaged and volleyed in for his first goal in city colours. Just 7 minutes later Andy King scored a 25 yard beauty and the 5 minutes later King was the man again as he tapped in from Rhodes cross.

Lineker says : Firstly i'd like to apologize from Richie for that tackle he's not that kind of man and didnt go in too hurt him. Today i didnt think we would win after Richies red however Jordan and Andy's goals have proved me wrong, this could be the turning point to our season, a great win today.

Today a wasteful city got unfortuanately beaten at the walkers by a Swansea side. Neil Taylor was rock at the heart of the Swans defence, and this proved crucial when in the 61st minute a swansea breakaway sent Stephen Dobbie away and he abbliged finishing to give the Swans Victory.

Lineker says : Today we were wasteful AGAIN as we failed to take our chances it looks that the corner hasnt been turned just yet.

Foxes Continue Good Form!
Leicester-City-icon.png

It was a tough month for Muzzy Izzet's men as they had a long break between their previous match and the first one of September! But they quickly got around to playing their usual football! They had to face six games this month with one game being the third round of the League Cup against West Brom!

npower-championship-spread-betting-300x216.jpg

wpid-Preston-North-End-vs-Leicester-City.jpg

Preston 0 - 2 Leicester
Waghorn (7) Gallagher (29)
We started well scoring two goals within half an hour but missed so many more chances! A clean sheet for Jason Brown was vital though!

npower-championship-spread-betting-300x216.jpg

wpid-Leicester-City-vs-Middlesbrough.jpg

Leicester 3 - 0 Middlesbrough
Gallagher (3) (58) King (28)
Thought this would of been closer! Gallagher stole the show at the Walkers stadium as Leicester ran out clear winners by three goals!

npower-championship-spread-betting-300x216.jpg

wpid-Scunthorpe-United-vs-Leicester-City1.jpg

Scunthorpe 0 - 2 Leicester
Yakubu (56) Ferdinand (61)
Yakubu found his first goal for this month as Anton Ferdinand found his first goal for the club with a bullet header from the corner! Another three points for the Foxes

(Third Round)
West Brom 2 - 0 Leicester
Morrison (4) Fortune (60)
A step in the wrong direction, Leicester crash out the cup as they named a weaker side, This will now allow them to focus on the league! Which is their main objective!

npower-championship-spread-betting-300x216.jpg

wpid-Leicester-City-vs-Cardiff-City.jpg

Leicester 3 - 0 Cardiff
King (41) Bamba (78) Abe (86)
Leicester bounced back to earn all three points against playoff chasers Cardiff! With King finding the net again and goals from Bamba and Abe saw them run out three - nil winners!

npower-championship-spread-betting-300x216.jpg

wpid-Swansea-City-vs-Leicester-City.jpg

Swansea 2 - 2 Leicester
Moore (33) Van Der Gun (44) - Yakubu (8) (49)
Another slip in a highly entertaining game! There were plenty of chances but finding the net in the second half wasn't happening! Yakubu's double gave Leicester a much needed away point!

0,,10274~226085,00.jpg

We've had another good month! We have now seen a couple slip ups but we have always managed to claim at least one point! Undefeated in the league so far this season is wonderful! We lost in the third round of the cup but we met our target! We must keep pressing forward though in the coming months!
