Liverpool plan £10m bid for Fulham's Clint Dempsey

fulhampic-495462913.jpg

Dempsey is rumoured to want to be re-united with former manager Roy hodgson

Roy Hodgson is set to raid former club Fulham yet again by bringing attacking midfielder Clint Dempsey to Liverpool, according to reports.

Hodgson is desperate to add more attacking players to his goal-shy Liverpool side and believes 27-year-old Dempsey would be a valuable asset in the final third.

The USA international can play in a number of positions going forward and, after Fulham's amazing journey to the Europa League final Dempsey has attracted a lot of attettion from many European clubs including Wolfsburg and he may be looking to move onto a bigger club.

Liverpool struggling for goals towards the back end of last season with only 17 goals in 15 games, and Dempsey was on fire woth 6 goals in the last 2 months last season in all competitions. Dempsey's versatility may prove to be too enticing for Hodgson to turn down, and is rumoured that the 63-year-old manager is readying a £10 million move for the Texan born attacker.

The stumbling block for any potential deal is likely to be new Fulham manager Mark Hughes, who would be relucant to part with a player that he feels is an integral part of fulham if they are to have any success this season.

If this deal is to go through would mean that Fulham would lose another player to former manager Hodgson after Konchesky made the move and owner Mohamed Al-Fayed was adamant Hodgosn would not be allowed to poach anymore of his former players.

Wright-Phillips keen on Everton move

Shaun-Wright-Philli_545167s.jpg

Wright-Phillips has been frozen out at City since Mancini took over from Mark Hughes

Everton are considering a move for Man City star Shaun Wright-Phillips and hope to have a deal all wrapped up by next week and the City star said he is willing to take a pay cut in order to gain first team football again.

The former Chelsea winger has been told by Mancini that he is free to leave as City as Mancini wants to get rid of all the deadwood with Adebayor and Bridge also expected to leave during this transfer window., with manager David Moyes in the hunt to help shoot his team up the table.

Wright Phillips has not started a game for City since April in a disappointing 1-1 draw with Blackburn. Our sources understand that Everton would prefer to sign the pacey winger on a permanent deal and believe he could could be available for as little as £4 million, less than half the £8.5 million City paid when they re-signed him from Chelsea in 2008.

David Moyes says that he is also looking for another midfielder and a goal-scoring striker up front with Niko Krancjar and Roque Santa Cruz top of Moyes' wishlist.

Keane has been frozen out at Spurs since returning to the club from Liverpool with most of the time stuck on the bench.

Birmingham City have agreed a £7 million fee with Tottenham for Irish striker Robbie Keane, according to sources coming from the Birmingham club.

After falling out of favour ever since returning to White Hart Lane after an unsuccessful spell at Liverpool, but Harry Redknapp has told Keane that he will be allowed to leave the club during the trabsfer window. Birmingham really need a striker that can consitently score 5-20 goals a season and Keane could be that man as he is understood to undergo a medical at St. Andrews in the next 48 hours.

Despite Birmingham being the favourites to sign Keane, he is very much a man in demand in the Premier League with clubs such as Newcastle, Wolves, Sunderland and Aston Villa linked with the striker.

The striker is desperate for some first team football after seeing his chances limted since returning to White Hart Lane from Anfield back in January 2009.
