F.C. United of Manchester is an English semi-professional football club based in Bury, Greater Manchester that plays in the Northern Premier League Premier Division. It was formed in 2005 by Manchester United supporters opposed to American businessman Malcolm Glazer's controversial takeover of the club. The supporters own the club and vote on how the club is run.

The club entered the North West Counties Football League Division Two in 2005, winning the league in their inaugural season. In their second season, they were crowned champions of North West Counties Football League Division One and were promoted to the Northern Premier League. The 2007–08 season saw them finish second in the Northern Premier League Division One North and gain promotion through the end of season play-offs. Since then they have played in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, reaching the play-off final in 2010–11. The club also reached the Second Round Proper of the FA Cup in the 2010–11 season. F.C. United has played at Gigg Lane since its formation in a ground-share with Bury. However, the club has applied for planning permission to build its own ground in north Manchester.

Rhodri Giggs (born April 2nd, 1977) is a Welsh right-sided midfielder who currently plays for Curzon Ashton. He was a trainee with Torquay, but left midway through his traineeship. He is the brother of Manchester United and Wales winger Ryan Giggs.

Giggs was born in Cardiff, but attended Grosvenor Road Primary School and Moorside High in Swinton, Greater Manchester, after his family had moved there. He played football for Salford Boys before joining Torquay as a trainee, going under the name Rhodri Jones to avoid comparisons with his famous older brother. His time as a trainee was not a happy one and he left halfway through his traineeship and temporarily quit football.

He attempted to resurrect his footballing career - three years later at the age of 19, heading north and having trials with Scottish side Hearts, eventually ending up playing with Livingston for six months, but never in their first team.

He worked as an estate agent, but in October 1997, was arrested after being accused of supplying cocaine to the undercover journalist Mazher Mahmood, better known as the News of the World's 'fake sheik'. He lost his job, but was later found not guilty after the prosecution said that it could not rely on taped conversations between him and the journalist.

He eventually returned to football, joining North West Counties League Division One side Salford City. He moved on to Welsh side Bangor City in October 2000,[3] but in August 2001 was jailed for nine months for attacking a man outside a nightclub in Manchester.

On his release he joined Aberystwyth Town in January 2002,[5] playing four league games before returning to Salford City in February 2002.

In July 2003, he left Salford to join Kidsgrove Athletic, moving to Bacup Borough in October 2003. In January 2004, he was the victim of a car-jacking in Manchester, his Porsche being stolen and driven to Blackburn after Giggs had been assaulted.

He moved again in February 2004, this time to Mossley. He was Mossley’s player of the year the following season, but was released by Mossley in May 2006.

In 2006, Giggs joined F.C. United of Manchester. He made 37 appearance for FC United and scored 15 goals. In August 2007, he left the club, joining Curzon Ashton the same month.

Giggs’ father, Danny Wilson, played Rugby Union for Cardiff RFC and more famously Rugby League for Swinton Lions.

A good Pre-Season run unbeaten in 4 games and a great performance against a strong AFC Wimbledon team who were touted as favourites against us, but new signing Jean Njock performed exceptionally for us.

Some great potential in the squad, the highlighted players are the Transfers I have brought in. I didn't highlight Jordaan Brown as his potential isn't that great.

Some excellent results to the start of the season in Month 1, only slipping up against Workington which was surprising to say the least. I will be expecting more of the same in the coming months. You can see each game in more detail below.

From the team stats so far I can see my players are playing very well with only 2 players Barry Cogan and Charlie Froggatt falling short of an average rating of 7.00 or more. I am delighted to see new signing Luke Woodland playing exceptionally well.

2 New signings for me before the Transfer Window closed, 2 more Free French signings as I felt these were the 2 positions I was lacking.

Finance is looking promising with a total profit so far of £555,235 and hopefully we can keep profiting each month. Unfortunately a loss of £9,177 in September, but doing well overall.

As you can see above, we have been drawn against Corby in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifier and I am excited and I am hoping to get through this round.

2 Losses in a row against Nuneaton and Histon have raised doubts over my teams credentials in this league and whether we will be able to keep it up and fight for promotion. I will not give up on FC United and I will continue to push the boundaries with this squad. Below are more detailed results.

A quick look at the financial situation at the club, which is looking quite good with a profit of £40,843 last month gives FC United a balance of £621,078. Exciting times ahead at Gigg Lane.

Some big games coming up in November with Chester at home being a stand out fixture for us. I am hoping to get at least 5 wins out of these fixtures. We shall see.

Reporter :
Hello again Giggs, you are having quite a start to your managerial career at Gigg Lane, how are things going for you?

Giggs :
Things are going very well at the moment, I have brought in a new batch of youngsters and they're performing very well at the moment so I cannot complain.

Reporter :
With your squad leading the race for the Title, what are your predictions on the overall winners at the end of the season?

Giggs :
I have to say FC United of Manchester, of course! I want to win the Title first time around and bounce up to the next level Blue Square Bet Premier and see where we can go from there.

Reporter :
Sounds very encouraging, Sir Alex Ferguson has since spoken in regards to your Managerial skills by saying you are becoming a very recognised Manager so soon in your career, what do you think about this?

Giggs :
I am delighted that Sir Alex Ferguson has spoken openly about my Management skills and I would one day like to emulate him at some point, will that happen with FC United? Who knows.

Reporter :
Thank you for your time Giggs, I will look forward to our next meeting.

Giggs :
No problem, anytime.

What are your thoughts on the race for Blue Square North? Any predictions?

I couldn't resist posting an update in regards to the FA Trophy as we beat FC Halifax 2 - 0 which was not on the cards at all before the game kicked off, but a brilliant performance from another new signing Ethan Ebanks-Landell we outclassed FC Halifax who are a league above us which is making me more determined to gain promotion even more to see how far this squad can go!

What can I really say about the results in November apart from brilliant! 5 wins out of 5 gives us a good platform for December with the FA Trophy 2nd Round to look forward too also. Below is a more detailed look at the League games as I already posted a FA Trophy update earlier.

I have highlighted the most important players so far with Joe Day (GK) on loan from Peterborough is performing exceptionally. I need to make him a permanent fixture when the end of the season comes if I have enough cash to spend. I have also highlighted the pass percentages as I believe this to be a fundamental part to my tactics, wingers always have lower pass percentages for some reason which is strange.
