There's always been something special about the Champions League Group Stage draw. With only 32 teams left int he tournament, the best teams in Europe will now battle for the most prestigious trophy in club football!

So we have been drawn with Juventus. A huge Italian giant with a winning pedigree. They will
be the biggest challenge in this group.

I buried my head into my hands. This was turning out to be a very tough group. I still fancied us to get through but I'd have liked an easier group.

For the third year running, we meet Celtic in the Group Stages.
Juventus, Dortmund & Celtic. I doesn't get tougher than that.

Game Week 3. El Clasico! The biggest game in Spain, a game I must win.
Having grown up in this city, having been at La Masia and working my
way into the first team... I know exactly what this game means to our fans.

When the team sheets came in, they lined up exactly how I thought they would.

I had two men I wanted to keep out of this game:

    [*=center]Ronaldo

    With Madrid fielding two DCM's, Illarramendi & Khedira, the midfield is extremely defense minded and lacking creativity. With Alonso out of the team, their only Creative outlet is Modric.

This allows me to split the team into two groups,
An offensive half: Messi, Neymar, Pedro & Iniesta
And a Defensive Half: Xavi, Busquets and my back 4.

Xavi would play as a DLP on defend to make him drop deeper but also set to Man Mark Modric and not allow him any space on the ball.

Bousquets would play as Ronaldo's Shadow. His job is simple: Don't give Ronaldo any space on the ball and mark him at all times!

Space would be very tight int he final third since there was 6 on 4 battle but I trusted Messi, Neymar & Pedro to make space for themselves. If they move into the right channels, Iniesta will find them.

You could have had a worse one. With Liverpool, I got Barca, Dortmund and PAOK...

Ouch, that not nice at all. PAOK are an easy draw though so if you get results away to both Barca and Dort', you should go through.

Yeah, but that is tough. Having to almost "rely" on getting results against 2 of the world's best teams to get through is... well... unfair in a way. The board want to reach the QF's BTW. :/

It is the Champions League mate, you're always going to have to rely on getting points off the best teams :P
Best of luck though, it's a tough group but Liverpool have a decent squad, just keep your players fit and you should be fine.

Very upset that Pedro's been injured. Torn Calf Muscles take awhile to come back from.
Pedro had earned himself a starting position on the left with his impressive pre season
form but with him set to be out until early December, Tello and Deulofeu will get the
opportunity to impressive.

Possibly try and train Sergi Roberto as an inside forward, he may not look like he has the ideal stats for it but he always scored a barrel load for me

I've Pastore, Tello, Deulofeu, Sanchez, Neymar and Pedro vying for two wing spots. While I agree with you that he has the stats to play as an inside forward, I think it's a waste of talent retraining him to a positioning that he'll never be good enough to take from the guys in front of him.

I thin he could turn into an exceptional CM and I've been training his defensive stats since that's all he's lacking to be an excellent DLP.

Ahh! I forgot about Tello and you've got Pastore now as well, silly me! He's easily one of my favourite players on this years game although he tends to fall out with people easily... I don't know if it's something you've had trouble with either
