Darran my dear friend - I may have kicked you off the park but who got the most bookings?

Has this dies or is there an upload schedule in place or what. Love the idea and the start so hope it isn't leaving anytime soon.

Life gets in the way lol. Just played until January where I am going to update. Will do one after January window too. This is not dead for sure!!!!

NEWCASTLE UNITED

END OF SEPT - 1ST OF JANUARY

All is not good at the land of the Toon. Not good at all - yet we are top of the league!

Let me explain - after beating Villa we continued our unbeaten run including a hard fought draw against Norwich and thumping Rotherham and Barnsley but then I paid the price in the cup for resting players and lost to Brentford in the League Cup.

Two comfortable victories followed and then we lost 6-4 to Leeds where we were 5-2 down at half-time! A trouncing of Blackburn followed before we lost the next 2 games. We are now currently on a 4 game unbeaten streak but within that there are 2 disappointing draws with Burton and Nottingham Forest.

In the FA Cup we will play West Ham at home.

THE SQUAD

Lets start with performances. I have come to realise that my team revolves around 2 players - Mitrovic and Knockaert. Mitro has been stupidly good. He took his chance when Gayle got injured and just hasn't stopped scoring and he leads the way with 20 goals in 17 starts. Knockaert in the AMC position is great. He creates, he scores and he was undroppable as Ayoze Perez was forced out but when Ritchie got injured I moved him to the right to let Ayoze back in and we lost a few games so AMC it is for Knockaert.

Shelvey and Diame were disappointing me until recently where Diame began to chip in with goals. The rest of the squad have been ok. Not great not poor.

I do however have many unhappy players who haven't been getting first team football. Anita, Gouffran and Jesus Gamez wanted transfers away which I agreed apart from the case of Anita who is too good to let go. Mbemba had his head turned with links to a move with Southampton and he wasn't happy when I said I would look at things if a decent bid comes in.

I had to hold a team meeting regarding the Anita situation but fortunately after telling them whats what the players came out on my side.

HOPES FOR JANUARY

One in one out so far. Haris Vuckic is leaving for a small fee and I am signing James Maddison from Norwich for about £2.5m. He should fit the bill for my philosophy of signing young players. The board invested £22m and gave me £7m to spend so I will see what happens.

If Gouffran, Jesus Gamez, Elliot or some other backups get sold I will have a fair bit to spend so who knows what will happen.

We have left a lot of points on the table with draws especially away from home. We had a insane result at Barnsley with newbie Thalles scoring 4 goals right after the Newcastle defeat and looking at November and December we were unbeaten until Leeds came to town Overall we're in 2nd and a automatic promotion spot.

Injurys have played there part with us too. McKay was bang in form before his injury while at some stage we've had a few players missing, One not missing through any fault but his violent self is Mile Jedinak who's nack for getting a red card is speeding up my hair loss situation and seriously made me rethink him for my long term plans.

The League
View attachment 103898
It looked like a 3 way fight for ages but with Ourselves, Newcastle and Norwich dropping points regularly all of a sudden Wolves, Reading and Brentford are not far behind. Its a delight to see my own player Ross McCormack 3rd in scoring and leading the assists. Thanks a lot Steven Bruce.

My greatest achievement so far. Learning English

Like Klippy i have £7m to spend unless anyone will take some of my dross of my hands

JANUARY

It has all gone pear shaped!!!! The month started off great as we defeated Blackburn and Brentford in the league and also came from behind to knock West Ham out of the cup but then we lost our next 3 games against Rotherham at home, Brighton away and Fulham at home in the cup - this is indeed worrying.

I think the main reason for the slump is that with Mbemba and Lazaar away at the African Cup of Nations and with me selling some players it coincided with us picking up a few injuries so I hope it is just a short term blip!!

TRANSFERS

I sold Jesus Gamez to Napoli for £2.1m, Yoan Gouffran to Swansea for £2.7m and Haris Vuckic to Cardiff for £425,000. Darryl Murphy was loaned to Preston while Boschilia's loan was terminated. I did accept a £21m bid from Liverpool for Chancel Mbemba but he failed to get a work permit.

Incoming were James Maddison from Norwich for £2.5m and Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal for £4.2m. I also loaned Bartosz Kapustka from Leicester.

January

We'll i wont complain as much as my friend above i know my team is a bag of **** but still it was not the greatest month. Our latest past time is not scoring a goal. Both strikers have had games with 5+ shots off target and its got so bad i've been considering pre update Scott Hogan.

View attachment 103881

First of all we're still in the cup and if we can win the replay with Brentford we'll be at home to Rotherham in the 5th round. We drew with Brentford in the league as well. in 180 minutes of back to back games less than 90 seconds covered the two goals, that kinda sums us up just now. The only defeat we had this month was to the league's form side Wolves who as i hinted at last month have very much joined the title battle.

Transfer Window

View attachment 103879

I promised a busy window and i failed you all. My hopes got even higher as Lansbury, Richards and Baker all handed in transfer requests and Sam Johnstone returned to Man Utd. I seen a extra £8-10m. Sadly non of them moved or gathered interest of note then when i did try to spend i was out of my depth. I was looking for top flight talent, i'm determined not to sign any more dross to this disaster of a squad. I did add one player of loan. Harrison Reed on loan from Southampton. If we get promoted i may manage the £12m buy out clause as well as a young Brazilian who failed a work permit so is out on loan but that was another £4m down the pan that wont help this season, missed the picture.

FEBRUARY PLUS NEWCASTLE V ASTON VILLA

So as I left last time we were in a major slump. We were losing games and playing **** and were also dumped out of the cup for good measure. Our next 4 games were against the teams in 7th, 4th, 2nd and 3rd position so how did we do?

Pretty ****** well tbh.

View attachment 102885

We started with a good 2-1 win over Derby. I dropped Mitrovic and started Gayle and he took his chance by scoring both goals. Wolves away were up next and an own goal was enough for us to win 1-0 and then we were away to Norwich and after going behind goals from Atsu and Shelvey gave us victory.

Then on to Villa...........

View attachment 102886

And we were ****! Didn't create much despite the amount of shots on goal and 3 clear cut chances and he struck twice. Fortunately we were in a position to be able to afford to lose this game so that's all I am going to say on the matter lol. If I had won Darran would have been in big trouble methinks but as it is its all tight at the top again.

After the transfer Window

No more transfers its down to these guys to get us back to the Premiership faster than a bunch of sneaks will get a League winning manager sacked

A win at Nottm Forest, draw at Brentford and defeat at Ipswich. All top 10 teams but still the Ipswich defeat had me having major doubts. Lucky for me we had the worst team in the league Barnsley to boost the confidence going into our biggest match of the season. Loose and the League is gone for sure and if the chasing pack keep up there form a play off spot would be as far as we could hope to go.

Newcastle 0-2 Aston Villa

Thankfully that happened, sadly as i was bouncing on the sofa i missed my chance to take a picture of the occasion, im sure we'll fix that next time were online

It did give Colin Calderwood the chance to channel his inner Arnie post match

And even better results elsewhere worked for us so if we can win our game in hand we'll move into the lead. Still our total focus is on promotion and despite having very favorable run in were not going to get ahead of ourselves. We've been too bad too often this season to get thoughts like that in our head.

March & April

We got another blast tonight and this is how we look with 5 games to go

View attachment 102667

Villa played 9 games and only suffered 1 defeat and 2 draws which i would certainly take. We only won one game by more than a goal and we've struggled in every game. It has never been pretty but we feel like a scientific experiment just waiting to implode. Cant see many of these guys hanging on in my squad long term.

Table
View attachment 102666
Were still top despite our best efforts to drop points. Norwich are still ahead of Newcastle and there open door defense and Wolves are also in the fight too only 3 goals between them. We however are at +37, 7 clear of next best Newcastle

With 5 games to go its all still to play for with the top 4. Aston Villa & Norwich have the advantage being more than a win clear of Newcastle & Wolves. Week by week it could change. We have only Reading left to play in the top half and have no excuse, Except our abysmal performances!

And our final jab from Ross McCormack after leading even the Newcastle players in the scoring chart he goes an damages his cruciate ligaments and is set to be out for 7-8 months, he returns to us in 2 months!

THE SEASON END...............

So the season is finished and I have got to say I have mixed emotions. We failed to win the league, we even failed to win promotion automatically and have had to settle for finishing 3rd but due to circumstances I can almost (but not quite) accept this.

th

****** INJURIES!!!!!

I have never known anything like it. I know I am not using it as an excuse as while we were playing and I said every 5min that so and so is out for a month and so and so is out for the season and he has stubbed his finger (seriously, Rolando Aarons?) Darran was rolling about my sofa is howls of laughter.

It wouldn't be so bad if it was spread throughout my team but in the final month of the season I was without my first 2 strikers (Mitrovic was out for 3 months, Gayle for 1 month), my first 2 AMs (Perez 4 months, Knockaert 6 weeks), Ritchie (2 months), Lazaar (2 months), Diame (1 month) and a few others.

Which obviously effected results........

View attachment 101805

The draws killed us. Not being able to beat Wigan and Burton at home and throwing away a 3-1 lead at Huddersfield was key. We seemed to really struggle at home for some reason and apart from Cardiff away we were great on our travels. My injury situation got so bad that I played a bunch of kids at the end and 2 regens (no future Aitors unfortunately) started with one getting a goal and an assist!

So into the playoffs I go.............

(Not played them yet. Darran is sitting looking all smug on my sofa lol)

End of season run in

Tonight we meet up to decide the fate of season 1's Championship We hold the lead with Newcastle and Norwich right on our tails.

Match 42
Aston Villa 4-0 Reading

Our last top half opposing and a rare Barrie McKay hatrick keeps us in pole position for the title

Newcastle's draw with Leeds is a huge blow for klippy but almost secures our goal of promotion

Match 43
Fulham 0-3 Aston Villa
Our result was great. Fulham put up little resistance and the big news from up the road in Preston who won 2-1 at home to Norwich. Title is in our grasp. Newcastle win too so hope for klippers over there remembering a better time when Tiffany & Cyndi Lauper ruled the world, Werent Newcastle in the championship then too????

Match 44
Aston Villa 2-2 Birmingham
We got the jokes going too early and took our eye off the prize. A late Brummie goal is Zola's last stand to try and deny there biggest rivals the league trophy. Wouldnt have happened today anyway as Newcastle & Norwich won. 2 to go and its anyone's guess who's winning this League except it will be a team that is coming right back up.

Match 45
Blackburn 0-2 Aston Villa
We get lucky and played the form team in the league. Lucky because its the bad form team. There in freefall and relegation is looking likely on form and now position. Norwich won to take it to the final day but oh my god what happened to the Toon. Cardiff who were just outside the bottom 3 hammered them ending all automatic promotion hopes and starting a injury curse that would cost them 7 of there best attackers with the playoffs just around the corner.

Match 46
Aston Villa 4-0 Brighton
Villa park was the home of the party atmosphere and no its not a parallel universe this is happening. Villa park was utterly rocking after only half a hour as a double from Thalies and a Maloney free kick had the title in the bag long before the break. A 2nd half O'G to make it 4 was the icing on the cake. An amazing final 3 months of the season where we only dropped 9 points over 16 games seen us fly by Newcastle and held off a mega strong challenge from Norwich to secure a title i felt was well beyond this squad of players.

Final Table
View attachment 101801

As you can imagine with the amount i've moaned i plan to make massive changes to the squad. Only 2-5 players will be good enough long term so if a offer comes i will probably sell.

Villa stats
View attachment 101798
Not sure how but Ritchie De Laet sneaked his way to player of the year over Thalles who's goals got us promoted, Amavi who was our best player but never mind. Fans call and they pay my wages so i'll keep zip
